Live from the Anthem of the wavy seas - Sept 3rd, 5 nights

It generally takes me one day to get fully accustomed to a new ship. For whatever reason, I keep going the wrong way on the Anthem. I am continuously going in the wrong direction between aft and forward, and keep ending up in the wrong floor where the shops and restaurants are...it is quite odd for me. So tonight we had a 7:15pm reservation at Chops. We would have been there right on time, but what do you know, we ended up in the wrong place....oh, I took us to shops instead of Chops....lmao, what is going on with me? So we finally get there...and long story short, I am so stuffed! We started off with bread and wine. Ro had mushroom soup, salad, crab cake, and tuna. I had onion soup, salad, some sort of bacon, and the 9oz filet. Our sides were fries, croquettes, mash, and mushrooms. Dessert was coffee, red velvet cake, hot cookies, and a mudslide. Did I mention I am so stuffed! It was a very good meal, and my filet was perfect!!! Back in the cabin, our aft balcony is water side. There is complete silence outside, nobody else s outside, no wind or waves...silence, that is except for 2 sea creatures splashing around right in front of us. It is too dark to know what they are, we can only hear them and see the ripples....I love being out here!

I will be in room 13140 which is on the left side of the ship (port side I believe) it looks like that is the side facing the water is that right? I am really hoping for that when we sail her in 25 days.

Yes, you are correct. This is what we have also, but we like to face the port, so I am a little disappointed. Love to people watch and have the scenery of each port as our back-drop. Don't get me wrong. We love sitting on the sea also, but we have that on cruising days. :):):)

If you look carefully, you can see me in the Northstar waving at the camera [emoji12]. I was fully prepared. Had already taken the ginger and had the bandz on. I took a Generic Bonine after the fact, but it was too late. Will be ready to chew promptly on the way back!!! It is very hot out now, but the main pool still is not open, and the other pools have not even been filled yet. I am going to walk around town. Lunch was a salad, turkey burger, potatoes, and some shwarma.....which thankfully was not as good as the lamb kabob on the Regal Princess....if anyone followed those threads, I ate way too much of that lamb!

Wow, can't believe the seabands, ginger and generic bonine didn't work. We had the rock and roll on Baltic cruise and also on Antarctic cruise and they really worked for me. When all else fails try the pepermint to soothe the tummy.

The first half of our cruising life was all about excursions & beaches. Now, the ship is the destination, and we are happy when everyone else gets off and we have a quiet pool deck. We woke up to grey skies. I finally had a good nights sleep, and we went straight to the buffet for breakfast. Our Windjammer experience on this ship is MUCH better than on the Allure. With no sun anywhere to be found, Ro was ready to go exploring. After we finished eating, we went ashore, and BOOM the skies opened up. We were in the mall already a little wet, and realizing we could not wait the rain out, we headed back to the ship. We were both soaked to the bone! Back in the room, I was using the hair dryer on my shows, when the circuit blew. No sockets or tv. We called passengers services, and they said they would notify maintenance after the current drill was over. I was already soaked, might as well go swimming. I had the pool to myself, and did 60 laps. Ro went to the gym during this time. After drying off, we went to the Windjammer for lunch. I had a big shwarma salad, the a plate of fries with ketchup....muahahahaha...it has been oh so long since I have done this! The rain has cleared, and the pool deck is once again active. Hopefully the elements will cooperate for a smooth sail away. All aboard is 4:30pm. A 5 night cruise is too short!

Thank you for your review. I'll be following along as you enjoy your trip. November can't come soon enough! My 9th sailing with Royal, 12th sailing all together. My boyfriend's FIRST sailing EVER! I can't wait to show him the joys of cruising. :)

P.S. Congrats on the weight loss. We are trying to loose some pounds before we sail. Gotta be one of those "Cute" couples. ;)

On the topic of weight loss, for years I have been shopping from the big & tall racks. Now I am able to wear "normal" sizes. While in NJ, I bought a slim fit size L Clairborn dress shirt. I wore it for the first time last night....I am proud of what I saw in the mirror! Now back to the plate of fries & ketchup....[emoji12]

I believe it's free onboard (well, used to be).

Meclizine tablets were available on Anthem outside the medical center (deck 2?) in a bin on the wall. You can just take what you need. They come 2 to a pack, but one tablet should work fine.

We are just leaving Bermuda now. Once the rain stopped, it has been a sunny day. Hopefully the seas will be kinder too us on the way back. Meclizine is what I took, but I was already "sick" so it did not help at all. I will take it in advance if there is a warning of rough seas tomorrow.

Looks like a 6-10' average mostly and hopefully you go around the big stuff off of Long Island. http://passageweather.com/maps/bermuda/waves/000.png

We had late reservations in Grande, but after spending the day in the sun once the rain stopped, neither one of us felt like having another long dinning experience. We went to the buffet and had our large salads, and I had a nice plate from the stir fry station. Afterwards we walked around and got comfortable in the Music Hall. There was a band playing classic rock. I then spent a few minutes in the casino...not by choice. It only took a few hands to go bust. FYI, besides roulette which is $5 minimum, the other tables are $10 and up. It is the first time I have seen a hold em table with a real dealer. Sitting in Music Hall now to see what is going on next. Supposed to be "Anthem Rocks", but they are late.

I am sitting on the balcony taking advantage of every last second, as tomorrow is already our last day. I was literally thinking of sleeping out here...and all of a sudden out of the blue it starts raining. I was clear a few minutes ago, and now all the stars are gone [emoji31]. I hope it is not a sign of things to come!

Unfortunately, I think yes. It was blustery in the city today, a bit of light rain tonight. The storm is still just off the coast, although, I think, greatly weakened, but still a large low pressure area.

Sorry. Thanks for your reports.

Wednesday morning, sitting on the balcony. Tired but awake. It is our last day [emoji22]

Nice day so far, but windy out here.

I had the ripcord reserved for this morning, but today it has been removed from my schedule, and is not on the activities page. I can only assume it won't be open.

I did the Ripcord. Short version...cool thing to do, but 1.5hrs for 1 minute experience...would not do it again. It is sunny so far. As per most sea days heading home, it is windy, and the waves are getting bigger the closer we get. Had a fast bite for breakfast. Looking forward to fries at lunch. Off to the pool....
