Chocolate Extravaganza???

When is the chocolate extravaganza done? Seems like I remember it on the last fun day at sea... Am I wrong? And is it listed in the Fun Times?

it is no longer at midnight, it is now on the last sea day during lunch in a small section at the lido buffet usually near the sweet spot

Yes - it's not even close to what it "used to be". A few extra chocolate desserts on the dessert section of the Lido buffets. And as stated, not really that tasty.

Strangely enough as far as we are concerned the best thing on the buffet is their rice pudding.

...And it takes up a line normally used for the lunch selections on the Lido buffet creating more lines and congestion when trying to get lunch. We avoid the Lido like the plague that day.

On The Dream class ships it is 1/2 of the buffet section , They run 2 separate lines for the chocolate , Large selection to choose from , small chocolate shakes also there

I have to agree with those that have stated its nothing special. Ironically enough, I thought that none of the deserts really tasted chocolatey. The best thing was the donut holes dipped in the chocolate fountain.

At this point, it's just piling on - but yeah, it's not good tasting at all...

 

Why they put so much effort into it and then have it fall SO flat. If Carnival asked me how to cut costs - I'd tell them drop this mess. It's just not good.

 

That said OP - it is usually the last sea day of your cruise during lunch in the buffet area. It's not well advertised although apparently it is in the daily papers. I have never seen it - just happened upon it or remembered to look for it.

It's usually so crowded that it's almost not worth the wait in line, plus on our last cruise we had a lot of children who were breaking in line and sticking their fingers in everything, don't know where their parents were.

I agree with several others here, the goodies look much better than they taste...............I guess there's a reason the signs say "Choco" instead of chocolate....... :rolleyes:

Agreed! But they have pared down a bit, less items and only Lipton and Earl Grey tea on my last cruise.

Agree. This is no longer something we even think about on the cruise. It just kind of occurs. Everything we try is just kind of eh.

Those donut holes dipped in chocolate were SO good! And on the Imagination a couple of weeks ago, nobody was in line for those. I could have eaten my weight in them!
