Let the 2016 Port Everglades Sail-away of DAM ships begin!

 

The Zuiderdam - with Copper10-8 onboard - arrives today after a couple of New England/Canada cruises and is set for a season of Caribbean and Panama Canal cruises.

 

The Zuiderdam is scheduled to set sail at 16:00/4:00 PM EDT (subject to change as always).

Zuiderdam is arriving very late after last night's issues. I wonder if boarding and departure will be late as well.

I got up at 7 am and looked out the window and the ship was just south of the Hillsboro Lighthouse north of Pompano Beach. At that time the ships schedule on the Port Everglades website had an arrival time of 7:30 but it will late since it is still within sight off Pompano Beach.

Arrival time is expected at 8:30 am. After we left Port Canaveral, we had a failure in one of our diesel engines set - so we are late.

 

Depending on the issues with the engines, it may be late leaving anyway.

 

I will be on Deck 4 waving us in, 5 balconies behind the aft bump-out.

Not sure what time you are leaving but, if you have a chance, come by my office (to the right of the Front Office) after we arrive

Zuiderdam was looking at a 7:45 pilot pickup and should be arriving about 8:15 to 8:30.

 

A nice treat to start the DAM ship season in Port Everglades with a late arrival we can watch and then a regular departure!

A few years ago the Eurodam arrived late - at12:20 PM - and we started boarding at 3 PM; we left only an hour late.
