hlsess Posted March 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2017 My mother says this is a No Jeans cruise.. I am trying to clarify for the family- I assume no jeans in the restaurants or can you wear nice white jeans with a nice top/sweater? can blue jeans be worn at breakfast/lunch or on the decks/lounges.....thanks
Emtbsam Posted March 3, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 3, 2017 We wear black, white or colored (not blue) jeans during the day but would hesitate to wear them in the Main Dining room for lunch. We do not wear them in the evening (after 6 pm) unless we are dining at the Grill on a casual night.

wripro Posted March 3, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 3, 2017 Always listen to you mother..... Not always. Mother says this is a no jeans cruise and jeans are perfectly acceptable during the day.
MrsWaldo Posted March 3, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 3, 2017 Yep, totally acceptable during the day.... Coloured "jeans" e.g. white are also acceptable in the pool grill in the evening with a nice top
mdpa Posted March 5, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 5, 2017 What do you think? Are these considered "colored" jeans?
Rare spinnaker2 Posted March 5, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 5, 2017 Those are clearly designer distressed blue jeans. Worn out areas strategically placed to show quite a bit of epidermis. I don't personally find them acceptable for me at my age and probably not "country club casual". There was a time that I would think those were very cool. :D

Camillus112 Posted March 5, 2017 #9 Share Posted March 5, 2017 Spinnaker2, I surely must be older than you because I don't remember them even being worn when I was young. However, minies, maxies, and flowers in the hair....
Rare spinnaker2 Posted March 5, 2017 #10 Share Posted March 5, 2017 Camillus I remember those too. But I remember "raveling" my jeans to make them more cool. Also remember kids ruining dryers by putting rocks in them to distress their Levi's. I just looked back on silversea photos and see pax in blue jeans on tours. None were distressed with strategic holes however. :-)
Camillus112 Posted March 5, 2017 #11 Share Posted March 5, 2017 Spins, that is so funny about your distressed jeans!! I remember ironing my (at the time) long hair, which, of course, made for very dry hair and split ends... But then, this was Twiggy time... Nowadays, I wear fashionable jeans; no holes allowed. Emtbsam Posted March 6, 2017 #12 Share Posted March 6, 2017 What do you think? Are these considered "colored" jeans? It all depends on the color of your undergarments!!!
Rare Silver Spectre Posted March 6, 2017 #13 Share Posted March 6, 2017 Smart blue jeans are perfectly acceptable in the MDR on a casual night. Sent from my iPad using Forums

friendlyfifer Posted March 6, 2017 #15 Share Posted March 6, 2017 IMHO a little effort should be made even on a casual evening and that would mean no blue jeans. They may be "acceptable" in that they do not get challenged but many passengers will find them unacceptable after 6.00 p.m.
hlsess Posted March 6, 2017 Author #16 Share Posted March 6, 2017 I was referring to nice white jeans since that is what I usually wear in the summer in the south but we will be Alaska where it is hopefully cooler- will be taking a few dresses/black pants- just wanted to let the family know-- thx for your input
mmu001 Posted March 6, 2017 #17 Share Posted March 6, 2017 We were on the Spirit in December/January (over the holidays) and many were in white jeans (non-distressed) on casual nights in the MDR. Paired with a nice blouse, we found it to be perfectly acceptable. The people pacing The Bar in their gym clothes at 8pm, not so much...
