Hi

just a quick question regarding the captains club points, we have a cruise booked for September, do those points get added when we cruise or after our cruise has ended?

thanks

SDuck

Points are added once the cruise has been completed.

So if you cancel after final payment, like a few days before sailing , can you get those points? Celebrity already has your money .

NO! You receive points only after the cruise is completed. Look into an insurance policy that will allow you to cancel for any reason to receive a refund money paid.

No, unless someone makes a mistake. Also if you pay for someone else’s cruise you cannot elect to receive their points. It works the same way as Frequent Flyer points in that regard. Butt on the cruise or flight.

It's best for you both to join Captains Club. You will both earn points on the cruise. That means once you make any sort of status, you each get a free ice cream or a bag of laundry, etc. I always give my husband my Casino perks so he gets double. Last time he turned $10 into more than $100!

I have a friend who most cruises Princess. They have the equivalent of Celebrity’s Elite. They often travel with a couple with no status. The game they play is that the two men book one stateroom & the two women book the other stateroom. On Princess, everyone in a stateroom gat the status of the higher person. Thus, they all get the higher bobbins.

(Once on board, the get extra ship cards so they can actually stay with their spouse.)

Would this work on Celebrity? Btw, only asking for curiosity; I don’t plan to try it.

Yes, works on Celebrity, but really, (usually) the non-elites only get access to the various elite functions, not the other perks like free internet...(but again full elite benefits are sometimes granted to all)

Yes you can both get Captains Club perks if one person in the room is Elite. I know people do it but I think it is cheating.

Actually, posters have reported that Celebrity phone agents have readily recommended how to arrange room occupants so people traveling together can access Elite events. They've also reported that you can go to Guest Relations and have them reissue room cards.

Nope, the best you will get it is "gee we are sorry.....but we are glad you are healthy now". Been there done that in 2014. Had to cancel 4 days before departure for a medical problem so they got to keep all of our money except the taxes and port charges so I called an asked about the CC points and was told no, you actually have to show up and make the trip. Oh well. At least I had insurance and I am fine today.

Well, show up and board at least. DW had medical issues mid-way into a 14 day cruise and we had to depart early, but we received full points. I suspect that checking in at the port generates the points.

According to Celebrity policy, you only get to go to the parties, you do not receive the perks. Occasionally some people have received them but that is because the steward screwed up.

We are 6 points away from the next level of the Captains Club...it is my understanding we will NOT get those higher benefits during our next cruise? Is this correct?

On Carnival, they consider you that next level up on boarding day of the cruise ...

You are correct. Points not added until after the cruise is complete.

Ya gotta wait. But look at it this way. Now you'll have one more thing to look forward to on your next cruise.
