Turraloon Posted June 27, 2017 #451 Share Posted June 27, 2017 (edited) Just held this cabin for our Panama Canal cruise next November. Is it a big picture window? LBfluffy... it depends what you call a big picture window? We deliberately book a specific cabin when cruising on the Escape with our daughter (12700), we positively DO NOT book it for the view from the window. Yes it has a decent sized sloped window that looks over the front of the ship but if you are booking it specifically for the view as you traverse the Panama Canal it may not give you what you expect. The window isn't accessible for the cabin crew therefore rarely gets cleaned. We book that cabin type because it effectively has two bedrooms, one for us and one for our adult daughter, both doubles with closets and dressing tables. Even has a bath-tub, Don't get me wrong, it is a great cabin and for a family of 3, 4 or even 5 it could hardly be bettered, but the view is way down the advantages of this type of cabin and arguably no better than a regular Oceanview. I'll try to work out how to attach pics I've hopefully attached pics now... the second bedroom is behind the purple curtain... susique Posted June 27, 2017 #452 Share Posted June 27, 2017 Turraloon, I booked this cabin yesterday on the Escape. Thanks for the pictures. I think my twin sister can come with my husband and I now. Usually we book a 2 bedroom suite, but they are over our budget now. Wow, thanks. You're welcome, we have this cabin again for our upcoming trip with our daughter. It provides all the privacy that most cabins can't. We've had Suites and balcony cabins in the past but this is certainly our favourite one. I think all the xx700s on the Escape are similar. I've added a pic which shows the 2nd bedroom from another angle for you to show your sister... Sent from my iPad using Forums

I thought that cabin held only three. I like the idea of having a large cabin. I know I'll be on deck for the transit. But now I'm wondering if it's better to stick with the least expensive ocean view since it's just us two. However my husband likes a bigger cabin too. We've never had a large room. Wadecool Posted June 28, 2017 #458 Share Posted June 28, 2017 They have the ability to open but they shouldn't be opened. The dividers serve a purpose of helping to prevent/lessen the spread of a potential fire. That said, some room stewards will open them, anyway. When I called guest services to ask about opening the balcony divider, they said the Captain would have to approve. Took about a day for approval. FreestyleNovice Posted June 28, 2017 Author #461 Share Posted June 28, 2017 Pic is taken from a great pan and view pic from Meyer Werft; https://www.facebook.com/meyerwerft/ Point of view is the far left side of the building hall, near the bow of World Dream, aft of WD is the next Bliss megablock (not visible) and the building hall's door/exit and opposite to that Bliss megablock is the visitor's viewing gallery. Can't see what blocks are in front of that at the moment, let's hope for some yard visitors sharing their photos this week.. :)
Cruiseenthusiast101 Posted June 29, 2017 #462 Share Posted June 29, 2017 Does anyone know when the complete deck plans will be revealed? Celebrity Cruises has recently been releasing info on the Edge! Carnival has recently done the same with the new Carnival Horizon too! Why can't NCL do the same with the Bliss? There's barely any info on the Bliss, all we have to go off is some info and a lot of speculations. We only know there will be in observation lounge, which was expected since it was going to be specifically built for Alaska, as well as some entertainment options. There's so much of the ship that has yet to be announced. I hate being left to hang off the cliff. The anticipation is killing me NCL! :'):')

NCL likes to string out information. If I knew all the deck plans, I'd have little to anticipate.;) ...and have to find something else to kill me. Tutontow Posted June 29, 2017 #467 Share Posted June 29, 2017 I always cruise out of Florida (we live here) but I just booked balcony 17232 on the Bliss for a Mexican Riviera cruise out of Los Angeles. We have gotten to the point we don't even leave the ship unless it is a private island we have seen the Bahamas, Cancun and Cozumel so many times so we are ready for a change. My friends have a condo in Cabo so even if they can't join me on the cruise I should at least be able to visit them at their condo. Now to keep my fingers crossed and hope Casinos at Sea can change my cruise to a comped cruise.

FreestyleNovice Posted July 2, 2017 Author #470 Share Posted July 2, 2017 The expected date for the float out of World Dream is mid August, with the river Ems conveyance mid September. Bliss' megablocks and further construction will be more visible after that. :)

Two Wheels Only Posted July 2, 2017 #472 Share Posted July 2, 2017 And here's a great overview of Norwegian Joy's aft balconies and their space; Size -wise, Joy and Escape aft-facing appear to be identical. Joy has less furniture on the balcony than Escape. I believe that Bliss will be the same size.
