Interesting that they brought in the Tenors of Rock for the maiden voyage. We almost saw them this week when we were in Vegas as we've heard from friends that their show is fantastic (but loud). Kudos to Princess for upping the entertainment ante!

We stopped by their 10pm show tonight. Excellent voices but we got fed up with the amount of ballads so are now upstairs at the Hollywood Pool listening to dance music. Easier to get drinks too

Nice bar staff guy at the Hollywood Pool bar saw my Platinum cruise card and mentioned the PES lounge is held 5-7pm at the back of the Hollywood Conservatory. Will check it out.

Will they be staying a while? We board in Athens on the 30th, and I love ballads.

From today's PP, it looks like there was no bingo scheduled for the first sea day; I wonder if they are dumping the game for the Asian market in favor of mah jongg (although the final page of the Patter was missing....)

Sorry, errant last page:

We have had Ramon from Spain and Natalie from Australia so far. Will need to chat more with them to find out their plans. There are only about 15% Chinese staff at the moment but expecting to increase over time.

That is great news! We know both Ramon and Natalie and they are wonderful hosts. Natalie is an absolute sweetheart - we enjoyed her on the Regal. It will be fun to see them both again. Thanks for the info!

Thank you so much for taking the time to blog your cruise. It is so helpful to those of us who are booked on later dates. So much handy info.......what do you like the most/least on the new ship?

And, can you share your shore excursions in Kotor? I am uncertain what to see here. The destination looks so beautiful...

Following along each day and enjoy your "blog". Can't wait for tomorrow s.

Hi Dides,

I'm really appreciating your "live" from the new Majestic Princess. It's most informative and entertaining. And you've answered so many questions - including questions we didn't even know we had yet!! :) Well done - and keep up the good work.

The link to your "live" has been posted on the three CC threads that cover the Majestic cruise starting 21 May from Rome to Shanghai:

- 49 night Rome to Shanghai

- 28 night Rome to Singapore

- 21 night Singapore to Shanghai

Thanks again. Cheers. Bill

I'm thinking this might have been a special deal as they are showing as being back at Harrah's this month and next. By the way, the ballad heavy repertoire might have been a special deal too. Our friends indicated that they sing 80's and 90's rock like Aerosmith, Journey, etc.

I cannot believe they replaced Crooners, my favorite place on any Princess ship, with a "For Fee" venue.....:mad::mad:

Bob

I can... pretty soon the only places that won't be "For Fee" venues will be: the stairwells, elevators, hallways and your stateroom.

Trust me. Your stateroom is already a major "for fee" venue! I really don't see anything that would make me want to sail on this ship. It is definitely aimed at a different target audience. Hopefully they will love it as many of us are CCL stockholders and it would help keep the stock strong. :)

Plus all information will be in Chinese along with announcements, meals will also cater to the Chinese which is one of the reasons certain well known areas of the Majestic have been renamed or replaced with non American restaurants.

Since its been built for the Chinese market they obv wanted to target that audience and removed the things that the Chinese may not want and replaced it with things they do want. That makes perfect sense to me. As someone already said these few cruises in Europe is all they will be selling, once it has done these cruises it won't be available for sale in the rest of the world anyway.

As noted above pretty sure there is a "fee" for the stateroom.

Took a look at the deck plans: did anyone notice the tiny "private gaming"? Plus the "VIP gaming"? Not to mention the "Vista Gaming Lounge"?

There's going to be a lot of gambling on that ship.
