ChappChapp Posted April 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 3, 2017 Can we expect more teens / younger children even college age on Marina March 19 to April 6, Papeete to LA?
Bootman4U Posted April 3, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 3, 2017 A teenager out of school for 17+ days?
JimandStan Posted April 3, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 3, 2017 I believe that her point was that Easter falls on the 16th, so the school break might fall then.
Rare ronrick1943 Posted April 3, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 3, 2017 I'd think yes do to school holiday time.
SweetPease Posted April 3, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 3, 2017 We had one teenager on our South Pacific cruise in 2014. She was a delightfully, well-mannered young lady. Can't recall if the cruise was over Easter/Spring break, but know she did get permission to miss extra days of class and was actually doing homework and writing papers while on ship and emailing them to her teachers! Quite impressive :).
Queen of DaNile Posted April 3, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 3, 2017 Don't recall seeing any on Marina 4/4/15-4/21/15 Papeete to Lima. We celebrated Easter on Moorea 4/5.
sammiedawg Posted April 3, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 3, 2017 We were on board last April, Papeete to Lima. I don't remember any kids or even teens on board on our 17 day sailing. School schedules would not allow this much time off. "Spring break" in our part of the US spans a five or six week period. Most schools give one week sometime between mid March to mid April, a few give two weeks.
Rare ORV Posted April 3, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 3, 2017 How about the home schooled children? On our trip from Sydney to Papeete there were two teenagers traveling with their mom and their tutor/nanny. They were in the owners suite and the nanny was in an adjoining/closeby room. Rare LHT28 Posted April 4, 2017 #9 Share Posted April 4, 2017 I would think even if they had children onboard that route they would be minimal in number We have been lucky & the most we have had on 1 sailing was 8 this was during the summer
Rare Caroldoll Posted April 4, 2017 #10 Share Posted April 4, 2017 We were on it last March and I don't recall seeing any children. That being said, a very few would be on that long cruise and I can't see why it would matter.
Queen of DaNile Posted April 4, 2017 #11 Share Posted April 4, 2017 There were around a dozen children on last week's Caribbean cruise ranging from a toddler to tweens. All seemed to be well supervised and/or well behaved. A little splashing in the pool but nothing too egregious.
