First Princess cruise.

We just booked our first cruise on Royal princess for 2018. Our past cruises have been on HAL and Carnival. My question is how does the Ocean Medallion work in the casino. On HAL you put the sail and sign card in the slot machine to get your play recorded, withdraw winnings, etc. Just wondering how it will work on Princess with no card. Thanks.

Currently works the same way.

No one has any answers about how Ocean Medallions will work as the first cruise using them isn't till November. Until then, it's all speculation. Stay tuned.

It will be implemented on the Regal Princess 11/13/2017 as the first ship to have the Ocean Medallion so no one knows how it will work. The Royal Princess will have it implemented 1/19/2018. It will be interesting to see if this works as usually there are glitches which may delay all the implementations after the Regal.

The Medallion is supposed to have the same functions as the current cruise card ("sail and sign" on the other line) does. I suspect you will not insert the medallion, but will probably put it near a specified detector.

 

As others posted, we must wait until later this year to find out.

Not actually known. The first medallion cruise is in November 2017 and the first Royal Princess medallion cruise is in January 2018. Suspect you will just place your medallion next to the slot machine and it will read your ID. From there my thinking is that you will select the amount you want to play just like with a cruise card.
