Cloud 9 Spa Cabin--Worth it?

The private pool and deck do sound like a great deal, but is it worth the extra money? I'm considering booking one for my cruise on the Splendor in the spring.

if your talking about the Thalasso pool, it's not really a pool but a big spa tub.

 

Our last 2 B2B cruises we a deck 12 Balcony. We absolutely love these cabins. They are so quiet, no kids, and no one yelling in the halls. When you exit the elevator a blast of eucalyptus in the air. The steam and relaxing room are fantastic. We were one flight of steps to the Serenity deck. The bartenders knew our names on day 2. Great, Great, Great Hope this answers your question

We booked our first spa balcony for our spring trip on Splendor to have a new experience! We compared the price of a regular balcony to the spa balcony and thought that the difference in price was not very much so we booked it!

We did think that the price of the spa suite was toooo much .

I did not look at the interior cabins as we need a balcony at the very least to be happy cruisers.

Only you can decided if it is "worth it" .

My husband and I are booked in a Spa Suite on the Carnival Magic in September. Does anyone know the current "extras" associated with the spa rooms now? From what I've read, they used to include 2 fitness classes per person and some other special extras. Is that still the case? Thanks!

We did the spa cabins awhile ago on the Magic. Yes, 2 free fitness classes, but only specific ones- like yoga and Pilates. Access to thallasso (spelling?) therapy whirlpool and steam rooms. A pair of slippers each, and a container of salt scrub. As previously mentioned, close to Serenity. It was definitely worth it on our back-to-back as it rained most of the 2nd week. Cabin decor was a nice change. Oh, and "premium" towels in your cabin.

 

Again, you need to decide if the expense is worth it. I'd book a spa cabin again, but not every time because of price. For colder climate cruises, would be a nice way to spend some "pool time."

 

Shop makes a difference, too. Magic has a view from the thallaso pool. Another ship- you were looking at people in the gym. [emoji20]

The very low price difference between the regular/aft/and spa balconies attracted my attention as well.

We loved it on the Magic, and are leaving in 3 days doing one again on the Vista.

We decided to try a spa cabin for the 1st time on the Horizon next May. Two of our ports are Amber Cove and San Juan which will turn into ship days enjoying Serenity and the spa pool, as well as less wait time for the Skyride and Ropes Course. We'll only get off the ship in Grand Turk for Jack's Shack and the wonderful beach there.

This will be truly sailing for the ship, not the ports.

For me, no Cloud 9 Spa cabin mean no cruise. Period. Absolutely love the Cloud 9 Spa cabins.

 

I don't care about the color of the cabin, but my wife preferred it. She like the slippers. I wear size 14 so that was a no go for me. The towels and toiletries...meh... am a guy and could not care less about that.

 

What i do like..no love..is the T-Pool and the various steam rooms. Oh yeah. The heated loungers do not work for me. I am too tall and the lounger contours and my contours do not align...but no biggie.

 

I also like the fruited water you can get in the quiet area at the front of the spa. Bring your Yeti! Great place to just sit and relax and look at the ocean...especially if you have an interior spa cabin.

 

Also the BIG showers in the Spa locker room are great...and very close, with an unlimited supply of towels. I will never again shower in the micro-shower in our cabin. Also plenty of lockers...I leave my spa trunks and shirt in one 24/7 (not sure if that is allowed...but never a problem over three cruises).

 

And finally, while there could be kids, typically families with younger kids are not going to book the Cloud 9 Spa cabin...especially since kids cannot go into the Spa.

Mine were .... we had out 7-9 year old girls with us on the Vista. There are only 2 or 3 inside spa cabins on the whole ship that can hold four people so families with kids will be few. We saw no others in the area. We stayed in cabin 11240.

Yes, we stayed in a Spa Balcony with our five-year old last week. The cabin immediately next to us had slightly older kids in it. Far more annoying to me, was the woman that was smoking on the balcony before the muster and again during the cruise. I mentioned it to one staff member and again to our steward. They seemed to be surprised that I mentioned it, but it greatly diminished our ability to enjoy the balcony for which we paid. I don't think that asking Carnival to enforce its own rules should be too much to ask.

I am certainly not supporting smoking on the balcony, but it takes 5 minutes to smoke a cigarette and the smoke blows all over the place. This is going to ruin your cruise? "Diminished the ability to enjoy the balcony", come on. On our last Magic cruise our neighbor came out on the balcony and asked if i minded if she smoked once in awhile. I said I had no problem, never really smelled it and I do not smoke.

Only no kids in the spa itself - Does not mean there will not be kids in the spa cabins ... I have 2 rooms booked in December and we have kids coming with us - But trust me no one will have issues with my kids

I didn't say it ruined our cruise. I said it diminished our ability to enjoy the balcony. Several times, I came in from reading on the balcony because of the smoke. I can smell smoke just about anytime. I deal with it in the casino, because it is allowed there. I don't think I should have to deal with it where it isn't allowed.

I agree that smoking on balconies can become annoying.

IF it is not often we probably wouldn't say anything but if it was constant then you need to tell security while the smoking is going on.

You cannot just tell your cabin steward about that.

It is not their job to deal with folks and tell them the rules.

We adore the Cloud 9 spa, and the spa balcony cabins. Love the quiet area of the ship. For the most part, no one's going up and down that hall unless they "live" there...and there's the "secret deck" all the way forward on deck 10. We've booked our 6th spa balcony cabin for Sept 2018...yep, worth it...to us.

We think it is worth the extra money-just to find a hot tub that is not full of unsupervised children. Location is great the the thermal chairs are to die for.

I love the spa cabins and try to book one every cruise. When you compare prices, sometimes it's only a little more than the balconies on the higher decks.

 

Something to keep in mind when booking ... One time, we were beside a suite thinking that would be a great place. Wrong! There were kids next door that stayed out on the balcony and talked LOUD all the time! I could hear mom yelling at them through the walls and heard all kinds of secrets they were keeping from mom (did I mention how loud they talked and they never seemed to take a breath?!). The other downside for us on booking a spa cabin and traveling with friends who do not is that you don't tend to use the spa as much.

On the Dream, absolutely yes for us. On the Vista won't book spa cabin again. Our favorite part of the spa is the Thalassotherapy pool which is sadly missing from the Vista.
