Mickfarland4 Posted November 9, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2017 Hi! I just booked our first family cruise for next October on Anthem of the Seas. I am wondering if someone can please tell me what activities as far as trivia or live music type activities that kids are allowed to attend? I know they have trivia my 10 year old would like to play, but am not sure it's allowed. Any input would be appreciated! Thank you!

There are bumper cars and many actives for children on Anthem, even an indoor pool for families.

Yes, your child can attend trivia but may not be of interest to them. Some of the music trivia will be song the kids probably have never heard. If they are into Queen, We Will Rock You is a great show. There are some off color jokes that will probably go right over a 10 yr olds head. The tribute bands are really good too. You will need to wait until closer to your sailing to see which is on board, but we have seen a really good Journey and Bon Jovi tribute band on our sailing. Anthem is great for music lovers. gerif Posted November 9, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 9, 2017 Children are permitted anywhere except the casino, disco after 10 pm., solarium and adult comedy show.
spookwife Posted November 9, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 9, 2017 The trivia contests are geared towards adults. Nothing off color, just the nature of the questions. A 10 yo will not get any enjoyment out of it. Casino is off limits of course. They will be far happier in the kids club most likely Sent from my iPad using Forums
CruisinCons Posted November 9, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 9, 2017 There is sooooo much for the kids to do, they won't want to be anywhere near you and trivia. LOL Mine barely let the Seaplex on Quantum.

Ocean Dancer Posted November 10, 2017 #8 Share Posted November 10, 2017 Did we mention roller skating? The Sea Plex turns into multiple actives, Bumper cars, certain ball games, circus/trapeze school along with free hotdogs just feet away. Your kid may never leave this area. cb at sea Posted November 10, 2017 #9 Share Posted November 10, 2017 Kids can attend ANYTHING with their parents, until about 10 or so, when the "nightclub" becomes 21 or older.....that's really the ONLY restriction.

LibrarianBecky Posted November 10, 2017 #11 Share Posted November 10, 2017 Be sure to sign up for iFly--my 10 year old loved it. He also liked all the evening shows, with We Will Rock You as the favorite. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Phamer55 Posted November 10, 2017 #14 Share Posted November 10, 2017 Great! Strangely enough, there are charges for all of them on the Ovation of the Seas in Asia. Found that out from a "live" thread that is going on. Hopefully, when she is brought to Alaska they will all be free again.
vickylexi Posted November 13, 2017 #15 Share Posted November 13, 2017 Reality check, just to manage your expectations...if you ever even get on these special attractions like Trapeze school, IFly, bumper car or roller skating....(be prepared you won't though, as the availability is extremely limited), they last from 60 seconds (IFly) to 5 minutes (bumper cars). Fat chance of doing it again during your cruise, unless you want to stand in hour long lines again. And Seaplex is all indoors, so if you want your child to spend all their days indoors, maybe you'd be happy with it. We were with 8 and 13 year old. Yeah, they were going to trivias and music hall with us and it was a hit or miss with them. I wish someone told us this little piece of reality check before we took the cruise, as it is, we were quite disappointed. We only got on Ifly after my husband complained in guest services, since all the slots were filled the first day for the remainder of the cruise, so book right after you get on the ship. teddybear231 Posted November 13, 2017 #16 Share Posted November 13, 2017 Anthem is a great ship for kids and teens. They have the seaplex which has the bumper cars, and trapeze school. There's florider and the sky diving in the back as well. The kids have their own lounge as well, just for kids. There's the xbox room plus a large arcade. TIP: The arcade games are free the first day (except for the games were you can win a prize).
