klfrodo Posted November 27, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 27, 2017 I did post this to the CC Forum for Glitches but wanted to post here also for more eyes. I got the message twice yesterday and again just now. Edge is my browser, Windows 10 is my OS. Happened while in "Ask A Cruise Question" Yesterday and today I was browsing the "Carnival" board. pghsteelerfan Posted November 27, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 27, 2017 I've had that happen while I was on CC, but it was between 1 and 2 years ago. We also have Norton and it was blocked and "quarantined" since it was listed as "high risk". I forget which board/threads I was on though.
Krazy Kruizers Posted November 27, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 27, 2017 I was using Chrome yesterday afternoon while on the HAL board and watching sail-away. I got a similar message sometime between 4 and 4:30 -- I don't remember the exact time or the exact wording. I didn't worry about it as I knew that Norton was protecting my computer and stopped the attack. I was using my older computer which is Windows 7. Rare Keith1010 Posted November 27, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 27, 2017 Anyone have any idea what the message means. Keith
shipgeeks Posted November 27, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 27, 2017 I've gotten this several times recently. I posted it on "Report bugs and glitches". It only happens while I am reading CC. It looks dire, and says "DO NOT SHUT DOWN". I always just shut down. I'm guessing it is a scam, but am curious.

klfrodo Posted November 27, 2017 Author #9 Share Posted November 27, 2017 Just a guess but I'm thinking it's one of those sites that say you have a problem and to call that 1-866 number at the bottom and they will help you fix your computer. That's when your bank account starts to dwindle. Fortunately, my Norton security saw it and blocked it. my concerns and reason for posting this is two fold: 1. There are some people who are lacking computer knowledge and security. maybe this post will help them in some way. 2. help CC IT security people figure out what's going on. Why is this attack coming through CC servers? Or is it? Not like I spend 24 hrs a day on CC, but the attack only happens (for me) when on a CC page. cb at sea Posted November 27, 2017 #10 Share Posted November 27, 2017 I get "intrusions" like that when I'm listening to an online radio station sometimes.....I simply close the window and restart the "play" button. I have had similar things freeze my screen, but I have a "work around" to shut it off. (Knock on wood), it's not happened on CC...yet!
runner15km Posted November 27, 2017 #11 Share Posted November 27, 2017 I got the security warning today when I clicked on my RC rollcall. The attemped hack locked my PC and I had to hit the shutdown button and then restart. I have Webroot for security and Maxthon as my browser.
