Gift Cards - AARP

Please tell me how this works? What is the benefit of buying a gift card and how did it save you money?

You either buy a $100 gift card for $90 or a $500 gift card for $450.

So you save money automatically when you buy them!! It's as simple as that.

I think it may have to do with location. I put in a different address as my location, and got more offers. Still no Carnival.

These are on the aarp 'rewards for good' page (which you can get to from the main aarp page). You have to earn points by taking quizzes, etc. in order to redeem for these gift cards.

Is there a limit to how many you're able to get in a day?

I believe so! Last week when I wanted to it off cruise I was only allowed 2 if each denomination per 24 hours on AARP. Allstate didn’t seem to have a limit as I bought 3 100 ones at a time

It used to be a max of either two $500 or five $100 "cards" when AARP and Verizon offered them. Since Verizon dropped out, and the gift cards now seem to be available every day on AARP Rewards via instant email, one can just wait a day or so and re-order if you bump up against a max #.

Something must have changed since last spring then- I was able to buy 7 $100 cards from AARP in April.

Usually the e-gift cards come within about 5 minutes (or less), the physical gift cards if you go that route for whatever reason, comes in a few days. I highly recommend the egift cards. MUCH easier/faster.
