Crickee81 Posted December 26, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 26, 2017 This is a weird question with all the food on the ship. Can I bring prepackaged cheese sticks with me on embarkation to keep in the fridge in the cabin? My first thought was yes, it's prepackaged ready to eat. Thanks for any help!! riktishaw Posted December 26, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 26, 2017 Not sure I would keep cheese in that fridge. I find it only kept things marginally tepid in there.

Rare Keith1010 Posted December 26, 2017 #6 Share Posted December 26, 2017 I too would just be careful in terms of the refrigeration as the refrigerators don't keep cold like your home refrigerator would. Keith
SadieN Posted December 26, 2017 #7 Share Posted December 26, 2017 But most packaged cheese sticks don’t need any refrigeration at all. In the US most cheese sticks (string cheese, cheddar) are refrigerated. Maybe they’re called differently down under? ETA—is this what you’re thinking? http://allrecipes.com.au/recipe/13824/cheese-sticks.aspx.
cb at sea Posted December 26, 2017 #8 Share Posted December 26, 2017 If your cabin fridge is in a cabinet, keep the cabinet door ajar...they will cool MUCH better! They are "dorm cube" sort of fridges, so there i no freezer, which is what keeps your HOME fridge cool! But, string cheese will be fine for a few day in the dorm cube! sanger727 Posted December 26, 2017 #9 Share Posted December 26, 2017 Can you, yes. But usually there is cheese available at the buffet for breakfast or lunch. We typically bring some of that back to our room along with crackers or bread to have available for late night snacking. Nic6318 Posted December 26, 2017 #10 Share Posted December 26, 2017 Hi Never had a problem with the cabin fridge keeping things cold. As CB says, leave the cabinet door open, the hot air needs to escape.
Moviela Posted December 26, 2017 #11 Share Posted December 26, 2017 While I always bring my favorite soda's on board because they do not offer my choice. I draw the line at snacks. There is plenty to eat on board. I have never felt the need for additional snacks.
