Retired LEO Posted February 28, 2018 #2201 Share Posted February 28, 2018 I think you missed the point of using a DP in the Lounges. It offers one to upgrade the alcohol one drinks. I personally like Tito’s. If drinking beer, something other than the beer on the list. This works well in most DL/CL/SL that have a full bar. Hasn’t worked in Freedom/Enchantment CL. Generally we only have one drink and are on our way, occasionally two and can’t recall three. We normally eat early and don’t return later for more drinking. Early eating allows for early start in the Casino. Sent from my iPhone using Forums I didn't miss the point at all. We're talking about over crowding in the lounges. You can go to ANY bar and get ANY drink of your choice thus leaving a seat free in the lounge for someone wanting their FREE DRINK.
Rare xpcdoojk Posted February 28, 2018 #2202 Share Posted February 28, 2018 Maybe they should have a Flow Rider Status Club Sent from my iPhone using Forums Talk about a pointless club.... what options do we have other than RCI? I understand but what if a special Flow Rider Group was aboard as a Charter. Not a full Ship Charter. I’ve seen large bridge playing groups take over several prime areas on cruises. It’s not likely the other cruise passengers would have known this in advance. topnole Posted February 28, 2018 #2208 Share Posted February 28, 2018 Do you know if they had shorter boards or only giant bandits. This was never an issue until my last cruise on the Ovation, as I was only allowed shorter boards near the end of the cruise, and they didn’t really want anyone else using it but me. If that is the new trend, I need to buy a short board before October. I really think the Ovation was a one off because they were in Asia, where communicating to the regular Chinese was an issue. That said, I am not going to probably take a chance. JC I can’t recall. But on my last cruise on oasis last year they had some new boards. Short and long and a couple different brands I think. One had raised edges and channels below as I recall. The typical outlaw as I recall and a different one. Long is 44 or 42 right? I know they had boards 2-4 inches shorter than the longer boards. So either 40 or 38. I switched to using a short board and it did help a lot. I’m a solid rider but far from great (I can carve all day, do 360s, etc) and like trying to get some tricks down but I don’t feel I cruise enough to warrant buying my own board. But I do think it would help. But there all so different it is hard to know what to get.

I carve really well, almost Pez level, I can do 360s, but I don’t like falling so I am not good at them. I just try to carve at the top of the wave as long as I can. I am too old to want to waste my ride trying to do tricks. The only cruise I had the luxury was the Anthem cruise, and I learned to drop in at the top and did more 360s, but I still don’t like falling and prefer to surf til tired and then just slide off the side. topnole Posted February 28, 2018 #2214 Share Posted February 28, 2018 Are they still letting STAR cut the line? Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app Might depend on the ship. Last I heard they were on allure but on oasis they were not when I heard that. When I was star on oasis they gave you time in the morning before it opened to the public. So this gave good riding time without line cutting but you had to get up early for it and I think it was only based on no one renting it at that time. icsys Posted February 28, 2018 #2217 Share Posted February 28, 2018 Its good to talk and offer debate, but why is there a need to constantly offer suggestions of ways to reduce benefits? RCI introduced the loyalty scheme and run it how they see fit. They sure don't need to be told how to run it. If you must offer up solutions..why not offer suggestions that may increase benefits? They won't do that!! is the cry.... but they have in the past... You asked - we listened! Often we hear great ideas from our Crown & Anchor® Society members that we are able to bring into action. They brought in three free drinks vouchers. Was that not an increase in benefits? They brought in double cruise points for solos. Was that not an increase in benefits? How about getting this thread back on topic and stop with offering RCI detrimental solutions in the form of reduced benefits? If they want to stop the lounge overflows then that is their prerogative, if a venue is full, just accept it and go elsewhere and use your free vouchers. grapau27 Posted February 28, 2018 #2219 Share Posted February 28, 2018 That’s what happened in November after they discovered me leaving for my drinks low and behold they said they would except my D coupons so if you push it they change a no to yes. grapau27 Posted February 28, 2018 #2220 Share Posted February 28, 2018 I said "before" you go into the MDR. Maybe if people keep getting up and disrupting the flow then RC might change the no free drink rule in the MDR. Good idea.

It was a heads up on changes to past policies Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app Probably not, but I don't think it was started to discuss ways to reduce benefits either, but looking back that seemed to be the theme. Regarding the heads up on changes to policies, stopping the lounge overflows is their prerogative and there is little that can be done about it. Suggestions around reduction of benefits to alleviate it is surely not the best way to go? Edited February 28, 2018 by icsys

JC On allure once with Pez. Apparently he was star class the next week ( they had a separate line and you could go about every third rider in main line) and he hogged the flowrider so much which started a huge thread on here about it. He is good though and even more so given his age. He was nice to me but some don’t like home that is for sure. Sounds like we are similar but I’m not pez level. I can ride as long as I want typically though if I don’t try new stuff.
