Njkrewzer Posted April 8, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2018 Look at it this way, you lost a week of your life from all the second hand smoke, but ADDED a week due to the awesome NCL vacation you had! It's a wash lol.. I sailed the Epic and didn't notice it being any better or worse than the rest, but smoke doesn't bother me anyway. Could be you were on a sailing with more smokers
Cruisercl Posted April 8, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 8, 2018 If you don’t smoke don’t book epic! Smoking everywhere, couldn’t even go eat without walking through smoking section. Funny; you must have missed a good part of the ship. I was on the Epic in January and did not experience this at all, only in certain places which were well marked as smoking sections. No, I am not a smoker. Hope your next cruise is better for you.:cool:
sccruiser26 Posted April 8, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted April 8, 2018 Someone correct me if I’m wrong about thes areas I mentioned, but there were people smoking there regardless of rules.
spanishguy1970 Posted April 8, 2018 #8 Share Posted April 8, 2018 we have been on the Epic twice, and one of those times for 20 days and only place we experience smoke was in the casino other than that not a thing, nada, zilch. I am sorry you had that experience.
havanadaydreaming Posted April 8, 2018 #9 Share Posted April 8, 2018 i havent had much of problem on any cruise line with smokers not following the rules. MSC has dmoke free casino on Divinia, and perhaps the entire US fleet fyi. Sent from my SM-G955U using Forums mobile app

Casino Comp Chick Posted April 8, 2018 #11 Share Posted April 8, 2018 If you don’t smoke don’t book epic! Smoking everywhere, couldn’t even go eat without walking through smoking section. Casino Comp Chick Posted April 8, 2018 #12 Share Posted April 8, 2018 Smoking at the main pool, smoking at the adult pool bar area, smoking out front of manhattan restaurant , smoking out front of noodle restaurant , smoking out front of O’Sheans, smoking everywhere. The ship is 1081 feet long and you mention 5 whole places and call it “everywhere”. Do you know the meaning of “overly dramatic?” I do get a kick out of posts such as these because they are so over the top it only proves my point as to why I will never allow a non smoker to ask me not to smoke in the smoking section or why I will blow smoke directly in their faces when they wave their hands like they are bringing in a 747 in the casino. I figure your going to complain anyway so I might as well give you a real reason to complain.
DarkJedi Posted April 8, 2018 #13 Share Posted April 8, 2018 If there are people smoking in non-smoking areas let the staff know, loudly. If you feel the need to constantly walk through the casino, well, that is the smoking section, try a different level.

The areas mentioned in red are part of the casino area. There is a smoking section at the main pool area, but the rest is smoke-free. Sorry you were bothered by the smoking. I tend to put up with the smokers as I'm on a cruise, and I like to gamble, so in order to do so I need to put up with the smokers. There are plenty of non-smoking areas on the ship. sccruiser26 Posted April 8, 2018 Author #15 Share Posted April 8, 2018 I posted this for people who don’t like smoke. there is smoking around every bar near the pools no matter what anyone else says it’s true just got off there.
SeaShark Posted April 8, 2018 #16 Share Posted April 8, 2018 I posted this for people who don’t like smoke. there is smoking around every bar near the pools no matter what anyone else says it’s true just got off there. What?? There is smoking around every bar?? I'm shocked! :o I realize that smoking is an addictive behavior. I also realize that drinking is an addictive behavior. But come on...who would have expected BOTH in the same area(s)? I hope they never classify gambling as an addictive behavior or the casinos are going to be filled with people who gamble, drink, AND smoke!! Then what? NCLfamily Posted April 8, 2018 #17 Share Posted April 8, 2018 What an overly dramatic thread title. [emoji23]. I'm no fan of smoke, have sailed on The Epic 4 times and never had an issue. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare graphicguy Posted April 8, 2018 #18 Share Posted April 8, 2018 As others said, if there are people smoking in non-smoking areas, let someone on the cruise staff know of it. I’ve sailed the Epic (one of my favorite cruises) and never noticed any smoking in non-smoking areas. As others point out, it’s about the same as I’ve experienced on MSC, CCL, and RCCL cruises I’ve taken. When did you sail? What was your itinerary? dd likes to cruise Posted April 8, 2018 #19 Share Posted April 8, 2018 Smoking at the main pool, smoking at the adult pool bar area, smoking out front of manhattan restaurant , smoking out front of noodle restaurant , smoking out front of O’Sheans, smoking everywhere. Did you bring it to the attention of staff when you saw it? What did they say or do? Yes, if smoking bothers you, you should try to skip the deck with the casino. But there are many other decks you can use as a walk way to get to the restaurants you named.
cruisin-m Posted April 8, 2018 #20 Share Posted April 8, 2018 I hope this is a bit dramatic as I’m about to go on the Epic and absolutely can’t stand cigarette smoke! Sounds like it will save me from losing money in the casino as I avoid the smoke based on the rest of the replies, there’s a silver lining for everything! ZN1300 Posted April 8, 2018 #21 Share Posted April 8, 2018 I did a transatlantic in April 2015. The area where the casino is located, mid-ship deck 6, is open to other decks above and below. It's horrible to walk through this area because of the smoke. I think the TA was especially bad because of the many days at sea with little to do. I'll be glad when all of the cruise lines ban smoking. And while they're at it, ban all the little 'comfort' animals. Service animals I understand. Finally a true response and as some of the others said probably not everywhere because not in my room, but pretty much all the public areas are attached to the casino and bowth pools
ShannonSC2 Posted April 8, 2018 #23 Share Posted April 8, 2018 I just got off the EPIC. The smoke doesn't bother me as me as it use to. I did learn that if I walk around the other side of the pool (the opposite side of the smoking section) that you can't smell the smoke. That would be if you are coming from back of ship (Spice H20) go to the right side. The smoking section is on the left side of the ship. The night of the 80's party there was a lot of smoking happening in Spice H20 but the wind was making it go off the ship.
