Clarea Posted May 30, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 30, 2018 Packing for trip with my Mom and she wants to bring shampoo, conditioner, and an iron. Are these items necessary? Irons are on the prohibited list. There is a combo shampoo/conditioner dispenser in the shower.
Krazy Kruizers Posted May 30, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 30, 2018 Tell Mom that irons are considered fire hazzards and therefore not allowed. Even though shampoo and conditioner is supplied, if there is a brand she likes, she can certainly take her own brand.
lenquixote66 Posted May 30, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 30, 2018 Packing for trip with my Mom and she wants to bring shampoo, conditioner, and an iron. Are these items necessary? Even though there is a combination shampoo/conditioner we always bring our own. As others will tell you ,you cannot bring an iron aboard a cruise ship. Rare 1025cruise Posted May 31, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 31, 2018 In addition, Royal Caribbean does not have irons available for passenger use.
amberlady34 Posted May 31, 2018 #6 Share Posted May 31, 2018 The shampoo that is provided is more like a liquid soap. Its body wash/shampoo. I dont have to use a specific type of shampoo but that stuff drys my hair out so you really want conditioner if you decide to use it. Herfnerd Posted May 31, 2018 #8 Share Posted May 31, 2018 Clothes irons are prohibited by pretty much every cruise line. Pack so as to minimize wrinkles and Downy Wrinkle Release works wonders! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
spookwife Posted May 31, 2018 #9 Share Posted May 31, 2018 Packing for trip with my Mom and she wants to bring shampoo, conditioner, and an iron. Are these items necessary? irons are NOT permitted and there are none on board for passenger use. pressing is available for half the price of ship's laundry( which is actually pretty reasonable for dry cleaning..its about what we pay at home) bring your own shampoo and conditioner unless you are in a suite. the all in one goop provided otherwise.. is good for washing bathing suits and undies. cb at sea Posted May 31, 2018 #10 Share Posted May 31, 2018 I always bring the toiletries that work for me....you should, too. They supply stuff, but it's not great. No irons for loan or allowed to be brought onboard. Iron before you pack.
SRF Posted June 1, 2018 #11 Share Posted June 1, 2018 It also depends on what level cabin you have. Suites get individual amenities like a quality hotel would give you. Separate shampoo, condition, and a lotion. I don't recall if there was body wash. I forget the brand, but it is a good one. They also give a reasonable (but not full sized) bar of soap, and our last cruise (Grand Suite) they replaced the soap daily
