Breeze Casino Question

Okay. I know this is going to sound like a strange question but I've been on several Carnival Cruises and I spend a lot of time in the casino. There's usually a few machines they pay out more than the average one period typically I will wait the first day and watch to see which machines are paying the most and then play. But I thought I would put the question out there. For those of you that have played on the breeze, what machine paid out best for you? Thanks in advance for your answers and happy cruising!

You are aware that machines are swapped out often. We used to spend a great deal in casinos onboard but the machines are rare to find the bet 9 lines. It’s mostly 30/60/90. Spending more more more quickly

Hmm... I thought ALL slots were using the slot machine device (land AND sea) that were using a random pay out system, so it was almost impossible to tell when a machine's about 'pay out' ? My wife's a confirmed 'slot junkie' and will be interested too hear otherwise !:D

It's a game of chance, all programmed. If it makes you feel better to think a machine pays out better, good luck to you. Slot machines are 100% luck, at least some table games have a slight level of skill.

Hi

Just wondering how you would actually be able to monitor all the machines to determine which are paying out more than others.

If you miss some of the payouts it would affect your perception of which machines are the most generous. That along with the concept that the payouts are quite random, suggests to me that if you are going to win, it's because you are lucky.

Reminds me of my SIL who says she walks around until she hears one of the machines calling to her. :) She seems to win often, but I don't know of the times she doesn't.

good luck

Thanks for the posts. I was not aware that the machines for switched out often. Typically we try to take a different ship each time we go if possible. The reason I look and see how the payout is going is that I know some machines are programmed to pay out more than others period and example is one time I was on The Conquest and every time I passed a specific machine it was paying out a decent amount. I went back to it and played it and one about $500. I know it's all luck but I'm always curious if the other CC members have a specific machine they prefer. Thanks all! Happy cruising!

Most modern slot machines have a prefered bet level set to have a better return to player ratio. The casino can change this at will that where a machine that was giving the best bang for your buck on day 1 at the maximum play for full lines and feature level on day 2 now needs the middle of the board multiplier on the bet amount at full lines and/or feature to be a consistent winner.

The second part that affects how well you win is most machines have 6-16 RNG settings that have a different algorithm that will have a it payout from a low variance to high variance. A low variance setting will give you more wins but at a lower payout rate, with almost every spin winning at an amount less than the base bet with the very occasional payout of multiple times the base bet. A high variance machine will payout less often but many times when it does payout it is at multiple times the base bet. High variance set machines tend to have more spectacular payouts on their bonus rounds, but it is harder to get to the bonus.

The tricky part at any casino where they know their patrons will be there across many days is most will randomly change the variance level on any given day. The computers in the backroom can reset these levels without a technician opening the machine, so one that was paying out very well on the first and second day, suddenly after dinner on the second night can run cold while the same machine 2 seats down is paying out like crazy.

As others have said slot are mostly luck of the draw and do go through very random win and lose cycles, that can further be manipulated by casino staff.

You’d do better playing the ones that haven’t been paying. They should all be set to payout a certain percentage so machines that haven’t been paying a lot will eventually.

If they use “hot slot” signs I’d avoid those. Those are the ones they want you to play.

There was a woman on here a couple years ago who swore her husband won every time he played a slot machine...on every cruise. And if you said he didn’t you were just jealous... It was.....insane.

If you really believe your second sentence, then I suggest you go to the roulette wheel and play the "hot" numbers on the digital board above the wheel.

For me, I find I lose my money the slowest playing Blackjack and following the exact same rules as the dealer. Yes, I am the unicorn that actually loses money in the Casino (but I lie to myself and justify it by saying it was Casino OBC..so I didn't really lose).anything...

Why would you want to lose your money the slowest? I would just as soon lose it fast so I can get back to the buffet and recoupe some of my losses in food.

I typically walk over to the craps table and put it all down on the 7 just to piss other people off.

My Mom used to say she won on the slots almost every time she went to a casino. She would often celebrate her winnings by purchasing a new washer/dryer, carpeting, dinette set, whatever for her home. She knew my Dad was getting miserly in his old age, but he couldn't carp about her spending her "winnings". She claimed the winning machines "called" to her.

One day after I drove them to a local casino, I watched her put $1,000 in 20's into a machine, spin a bit, and cash out for $950. Dad couldn't complain when she had a few rooms of the house repainted.

Wow! Good info! I didn't realize it was so variable. Thanks!

We did an Ultra cruise on the Breeze and there was one machine that always paid out for me...it was close to the cashiers cage I believe it was called....wait for it...the ATM.

Good luck and happy cruising.

Haha!! That's funny (and so true - LOL!).

Sorry for the typo - I was talking in my question on my phone so you'll see "period" listed often. Supposed to be a ".".

Didn't know they could reset without going into the machine.

Good info.

it's all just dumb luck anyway:)

I was on the Breeze in April. Depending on your bet level and what you consider a big win...

They had a ton of the same style of game. You have to get 6 orbs, wolves, suns, etc. to trigger the free game. Max bet for this game is $3.60. My husband did pretty well on this game but the first night won $1200 on this one. The other big payouts were coming from the game that you have to line up the cash and get a wheel spin. There were always people waiting to play and many betting low were winning $100 or so. Max bet was $6 but my husband and another lady were the only I saw betting max. With that game my husband had big wins, but like any gambler, It's not a win until you walk away with the money. ;)

Personally I'd play the video poker machines over the slots. The pay tables on Carnival aren't great, but they're still going to give around a 95% theoretical return if you know how to play correctly.

You can really make your money last a lot longer on video poker. You won't get as many of the huge wins, but you also won't usually just pump cash into it and get no wins.
