princesslondon Posted July 10, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2018 ..without causing too many issues. It’ll be me, my husband, our daughter (17) and her friend (17). I know I have to put one adult and one teen in one room(sky class suite)and one adult and 1 teen in another ( interior) but can my husband and I use the concierge amenities (CK, lounge, etc) ? My daughter or her friend won’t use them so I’m not trying to use it for more people than I’m paying for, if that makes sense. There are no suite level rooms available for our cruise that have a separate bedroom for the teens so I was just curious if this would work. leisuretraveler223 Posted July 10, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2018 17 is old enough as long as the rooms are in proximity. We have twelve people traveling in four rooms, two on each side of the hall. One of the rooms officially has two 17 year olds and two 15 year olds, and RCI was fine with that. But I couldn't put the fifteen year olds and the fourteen year olds in a room without an adult. Evidently, there is some "wiggle room" with 17 year olds. Clarea Posted July 10, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 10, 2018 The suite perks will be for the guests that are actually booked in the suite. Royal will allow you to put minors alone in their own stateroom if that stateroom is next to or across the hall fromt he responsible adult. gerif Posted July 10, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 10, 2018 If you have a TA, they will probably tell you that you cannot book the teens in their own (next door or across the hall) cabin because they have to call to do this and it takes more time than just clicking on a keyboard. lovescats5 Posted July 11, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 11, 2018 When we visited the suite lounge on Oasis they only asked for 1 card to get in, there were 4 of us, so I think that you will have no problem getting into the lounge or eating at the Coastal Kitchen. Enjoy your time.
cb at sea Posted July 11, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 11, 2018 You CAN book the kids in their own cabin..,.might take a phone call, but it CAN be done. Whoever is booked in the suite gets the benefits...so you definitely want the adults in the suite. If you booked, call on the phone to get it straight. Ourusualbeach Posted July 11, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 11, 2018 The problem you will have is that there are not many interior cabins that are directly across the hall from a Sky suite cabin, in fact there may not be any. In order to book the kids in their own room the cabin must be beside (this won’t work unless you book a balcony) or directly across the hall. As others have stated the suite class perks can’t be transferred from one guest to another. You may get lucky and get away with only having one card but then again you might not. You neglected to mention that the kids cabin must be directly beside or directly across the hall in order to book this way. The fact that they have a sky class cabin and an interior makes this unlikely.
princesslondon Posted July 11, 2018 Author #10 Share Posted July 11, 2018 We were looking at a crown loft suite so there aren't any rooms across, but I do see some owners suite available so I am going to call and see is there are any with interior rooms across from them. Will our teens be able to embark/disembark with us, other than that we probably won't see them much after that :) I know reserved seating at shows, the lounge, etc won't be available to them which is fine. In reality no one is going to question your kids sitting with you at the shows if you show up together and the two adults show their cards. Same goes for the lounge since they won’t be drinking.
