EmT7 Posted July 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2018 Hi everyone, This is my first time posting so I hope I'm doing it right! We're a family of 6 and we're heading off on our first ever cruise in August. We have a quad room booked for our kids (2 of them are over 18) and a twin room for hubby and I. We've been given the cabin number for the quad but not our double. Is this normal so close to departure? We leave for 10 nights on August 6th on Carnival. Tia :)
Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted July 18, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 18, 2018 Don't panic, sometimes you don't get your cabin allocation until the last minute.

Tia :) Did you do guarantee cabin reservations? How did you book your cruise and not select your own cabin/cabin #s/cabin location. To make sure you are next door to or across the hall from your kids cabin?
teknoge3k Posted July 18, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 18, 2018 I would go nuts not picking my cabin number when I book. I know people do this to save a few extra dollars but I want to know exactly where I am and pick my room.
skrufy Posted July 18, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 18, 2018 You might not know until you drop your luggage off with a porter.
mjkacmom Posted July 18, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 18, 2018 If you booked guarantee, yes, you can be assigned right away or at the very last minute. We prefer to spend more $ and choose our cabins (family of 7, we like connecting).
EmT7 Posted July 18, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted July 18, 2018 Yes, we booked guarantee cabins. As it's our first cruise we wanted to go with the cheaper option to check it out. Our kids are older so we're all fine with not being next to each other and none of us are fussy at all. Thanks everyone, I'll stop worrying now ☺
BDRebel Posted July 18, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 18, 2018 As long as you have paid, you will be assigned a cabin. Nothing to worry about. Best case scenario, you will receive a hefty upgrade -- worst case scenario you will receive what you paid for.
GUT2407 Posted July 19, 2018 #9 Share Posted July 19, 2018 You will get a cabin, maybe at boarding, but you’ll get one

Don't stress, the longer they leave it the higher the chance of an upgrade.
EmT7 Posted July 19, 2018 Author #11 Share Posted July 19, 2018 Oh an upgrade would be nice! I'm sure we'll be happy with whatever we get though. Just happy that we get to spend this extra time with our very quickly growing kids! ;)
