I am pleased to report that Hurricane Debby turned a bit to the east, and we were spared.  We still have high winds, but we only lost power briefly, the water stayed on, and the road didn’t wash away.

Lois, we are due west of you, just south of Tallahassee.  It is also called Lighthouse Point.

Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement

Glad you are ok for sure! We are just getting rain and some light winds but nothing bad really. Let's hope it stays that way.

And for some reason I thought you lived further south.

Lunch@seaside was again simples.  No kerfuffle tolerated.

Chicken, ham, slaw, ‘tatoes,  some salad  and Cremant …. and some Nile Rogers and Chic playing a 30 minute uplifting happy set at Tiny Desk @ NPR via Youtube and Amazon Firesticks …. to the lounge and jeff’s diner@seaside.

Rebecca Andrade was amazing on the floor - as were they all, in fact, but she was perfect.  Simone seemed a bit put out after the problems many of them had on the apparatus, what she attempts is so difficult that it is easier to get it wrong, so to speak.  It is good to see people from lots of different countries do so well for a change.

I think the girls were actually all cheering for each other. Did you happen to see the medal ceremony? Simone and Jordan both bowed to Rebecca in a very warming way.....showing the best in sportsmanship🙂

Everyone I have seen winning and losing so far has been gracious towards the others; even if they may feel envious or thinking it was unfair they know how to behave well and not show it. A heartwarming sight to see that there are still good manners and kindness in the world which can often  seem not to be the case recently.

One of the excursions we took in Alaska this year gave us the opportunity to enjoy a delicious Smoked Salmon Dip.  The port was Icy Strait Point .  Here is a link to the blog post for those who are interested......

https://shadowchristmasworld.blogspot.com/2024/05/day-118.html

When we came home Myster went on a search for a recipe for Smoked Salmon Dip.  He chose this one....

Smoked Salmon Dip

Ingredients

6 oz smoked salmon
8 oz cream cheese softened
2 tbsp sour cream
1 tsp dried dill
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp white pepper
2 tsp fresh lemon juice
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

1. Add the softened cream cheese, sour cream, dried dill, paprika, white pepper, fresh lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce to a medium mixing bowl and whip until well blended and creamy.

2. Break the salmon up into small pieces, then add it to the mixture.

3. Fold the smoked salmon into the cream cheese mixture with a rubber spatula.

4. Refrigerate the dip for at least one hour prior to serving to allow flavours to bloom.

5. Serve with your favorite charcuterie items such as crostini, cucumbers, peppers and carrots.

The recipe can be found online on a website called Ask Chef Dennis.

I’m currently watching a few streams - one being Netflix “F1 Drive to Survive” and “Those About To Die” on Amazon Prime about charioteers at Rome and found myself wondering whether this could be a good film project of somewhere between the two.

Mysty, that recipie sounds fantastic!!!🙂

We love salmon pate! 🙂

And if you make some and have some (30gms’ish) on some lovely buttery toast each and every night then the recipe will last you for two weeks.  Actually more.  You can NEVER get too much salmon pate.

Enjoy.

She really was exceptional. Brasil should be proud of her achievement.

Have you any idea how long the queues will be for the two rear toilets.

What could possibly go wrong.

Jeff

🤣…..my pet hate on the low cost flights…as soon as the seat belt signs are off they’re queuing for the loo…😡

We're heading to a friend's cottage for a few days tomorrow.  Myster is in the process of making the couscous salad and the smoked salmon dip.  Glorious times ahead!
