cruisin'sz Posted August 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2018 Is there any place on the ship to refill your water bottle (other than your bathroom sink) without getting the evil eye? I know that it is frowned upon to fill your bottle at the water stations in the buffet. Will a bartender do it for you? Getting a pitcher of water from room service once was an option (perhaps I'm dating myself), but no longer seems to be the case (especially in light of the new room service delivery fee)... CazV Posted August 12, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 12, 2018 It's not frowned upon to use the water stations... just use a clean cup to pour it into your bottle. You can also add some ice to keep it colder for longer.
Rare BirdTravels Posted August 12, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 12, 2018 You may NOT place your water bottle up to any dispensing device. You can use clean cups to get water and pour it into your bottle. NCL does not have any fill stations for sanitary reasons.
kirsty_r Posted August 12, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 12, 2018 As the others said. As long as you use a clean cup you can fill your own bottle from the self serve dispensers in the buffet/by the pool. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
cruisin'sz Posted August 12, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted August 12, 2018 Thank you. Once upon a time there were signs telling you not to do that. Good to know it's okay now.
kirsty_r Posted August 12, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 12, 2018 The signs used to say do not refill bottles directly. But using a clean cup is acceptable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Paul Bogle Posted August 12, 2018 #7 Share Posted August 12, 2018 No one will object to filling bottles in the buffet if you do not place used containers to the dispenser. Assuming you want to fill a water bottle with a narrow top you will need to bring a small funnel with you from home. Fill a clean cup with water (or any other beverage) then pour the liquid into your bottle from the clean cup using the funnel.
billslowsky Posted August 12, 2018 #8 Share Posted August 12, 2018 Or get ice daily from your room attendant and recycle the melted ice in the morning.

Rare Von & John Posted August 12, 2018 #10 Share Posted August 12, 2018 As a rule - I do not drink water from any bathroom sink. People inadvertently hit the faucet w/ their hands, while washing them, after using the commode. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

kirsty_r Posted August 12, 2018 #12 Share Posted August 12, 2018 I don’t have any issue with filling up from the bathroom - apart from my bottle doesn’t aways fit under the tap. [emoji846] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Something fun! Posted August 12, 2018 #13 Share Posted August 12, 2018 The atrium bar in the morning is the worst place. I learned my lesson on that one. Call room service for pitchers of ice water.
zqvol Posted August 12, 2018 #14 Share Posted August 12, 2018 Bar tenders do not mind to fill them if they are not busy.
westcoastgirl1 Posted August 13, 2018 #15 Share Posted August 13, 2018 I use the gym and fill up my water bottle there. It's cold and nobody is monitoring how you fill your water bottle.

Medtech2 Posted August 13, 2018 #17 Share Posted August 13, 2018 So are you saying you don't use glasses/cups to fill your water bottle and fill it directly from the faucet? Is it from a combo water fountain/spigot? I have to admit I find different fears interesting, to say the least. I work in a hospital laboratory. It makes me cringe to shake hands but there are tons of people who insist on it, even when I purposefully leave my hand at my side. My hospital has a couple combo water fountains/spigots built specifically for refilling sports bottles. You’d think if there was a real danger of disease transmission that a hospital would not have these....

NLH Arizona Posted August 13, 2018 #19 Share Posted August 13, 2018 gym faucets are nasty. i see people literally stick the spigot INSIDE of their water bottle. germs, germs germs!Unless it is a fountain with a dedicated water bottle filler station, best to always use a glass to fill your bottle, as you never know what someone does when not being monitored. oncruisecontrol Posted August 14, 2018 #20 Share Posted August 14, 2018 I just ask for a glass of ice water from one of the bars and then bring it back to the cabin to fill my 32 oz. water bottle (which I use only for the cabin). The glass they give you is probably only 10 oz., but I'll ask 2 or three times over the course of 24 hours and it's enough to keep my water bottle filled for whenever I need hydration in the cabin.
