granni10 Posted August 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 18, 2018 How many years do you have to be married to be in the show ??? THANKS
Rare J13C85 Posted August 18, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 18, 2018 When we did it there were three couples. The Newlyweds, the Midllyweds (that was us, 23 years) and the Oldlyweds (they were over 40 years). It was really fun but it was on the TV a lot during the second half of the cruise, lol Sent from my SM-G965U using Forums mobile app
paul929207 Posted August 18, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 18, 2018 You should probably ask in the section for the line you will be sailing with. Answer may vary by line.
Rare sparks1093 Posted August 18, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2018 You should probably ask in the section for the line you will be sailing with. Answer may vary by line. The answer will also vary by Cruise Director. Usually they look for the most recently married newlyweds and the longest married couple, then they will pick a couple that falls in the middle of that range. Krazy Kruizers Posted August 18, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 18, 2018 Definitely ask your question on the cruise line you will be sailing on. HAL doesn't even have this game any more.
Elaine5715 Posted August 18, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 18, 2018 Unless you have seen the show, you don't want to be in the show.
Sauer-kraut Posted August 19, 2018 #7 Share Posted August 19, 2018 My friend's parents were chosen, the oldyweds, and they were hilarious! I never knew them to be so funny because they are quite stodgy people. They became 'celebs' on the cruise. LOL
OCruisers Posted August 19, 2018 #8 Share Posted August 19, 2018 Our last several cruises on Princess it was on an AtSea day one afternoon. Varies by cruise line and ship.
Heidi13 Posted August 20, 2018 #9 Share Posted August 20, 2018 Have participated many times on Princess. They normally pick 3 couples - ages and number of years married varies by length of cruise. We tend to do longer cruises, so rarely any newly weds. I believe our 25th anniversary cruise we were the middle couple. Ten to 20 years ago they were definitely more fun. Last couple of cruises we were on, the questions are significantly less risque and the show is now definitely "G" rated. However, it does depend on the cruise staff. Can't comment on other cruise lines.
livinthedream99 Posted August 20, 2018 #10 Share Posted August 20, 2018 The ages vary. Newlywed - 10+ - longest married. Most shows we have watched, have multiple couples per age category, compete for applause to gain the spot. If you want in....stand out! lol
john watson Posted August 20, 2018 #11 Share Posted August 20, 2018 The great thing about the show is that participants give explicit genuine answers about things that have actually happened. There is no making up fictitious answers to anticipated questions at all. Regards John
