LockwoodGrace Posted September 13, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2018 Would you base your decision (when choosing a certain cruise ) if smoking is allowed in Casinos? Smokers? Non-smoker?
PigsCanFly Posted September 13, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2018 I am a non-smoker. I do not choose a cruise based on the smoking/non-smoking casino, but do avoid sitting next to a heavy smoker (if there is another seat). That being said, I will indure the smoke to get my gambling in.

PigsCanFly Posted September 13, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2018 I do find it necessary sometimes (it is 5 somewhere) to filter my breathing through a bottle of beer or a rum cocktail.:halo:
dznymom Posted September 13, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 13, 2018 It is absolutely a consideration. I like to smoke when I gamble, and I like to gamble :) 1
Alabaster Cruiser Posted September 13, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 13, 2018 Prefer the nonsmoking casino on Celebrity but we do cruise all lines. Sent from my VK700 using Tapatalk
chloemonkey Posted September 13, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 13, 2018 Would you base your decision (when choosing a certain cruise ) if smoking is allowed in Casinos?Smokers? Non-smoker? YES! I am a former smoker, currently addicted to E-cigs! And we have parted ways with some upscale lines that do NOT allow smoking in their casinos. We spend a lot of time gambling and I need my nicotine! lol
OCruisers Posted September 13, 2018 #8 Share Posted September 13, 2018 No desire to go on a ship (cruise line) that didn't allow vaping in the Casino. (n)
sandebeach Posted September 14, 2018 #9 Share Posted September 14, 2018 We will not cruise again on a ship that has a non-smoking casino. Learned my lesson the first night on Celebrity. Hit a small bonus on the slots and then realized I could not do my “good-luck cig”! Won $240 on that bonus, cashed out and never went back to the casino. Seadog & Sea Hag Posted September 26, 2018 #12 Share Posted September 26, 2018 I Won’t cruise on any ship that has smoking indoors. Thankfully cruises from Australia you can’t. Sent from my iPhone using Forums 1
InitialD Posted October 2, 2018 #13 Share Posted October 2, 2018 I only cruise Carnival and don't smoke and I'm rarely around anyone that smokes. On my last cruise I spent too much time in the casino the first night and felt very sick from all the smoke. After that, I had to limit my time in the casino and take breaks. I'd prefer no smoking allowed but I'll deal with it as I don't cruise just for the casino.
LockwoodGrace Posted October 2, 2018 Author #14 Share Posted October 2, 2018 I Won’t cruise on any ship that has smoking indoors. Thankfully cruises from Australia you can’t. Sent from my iPhone using Forums Hi, are you saying that cruises that sail from Australia are not allowed to have smoking indoors? So does that mean NCL Jewel will have to stop the smoking in casino while on their sailing Syd to NZ. That would be amazing if enforced.
Seadog & Sea Hag Posted October 2, 2018 #15 Share Posted October 2, 2018 I’m not sure about NCL but that’s how it is for Princess & P&O on cruises from Australia Sent from my iPhone using Forums
picantel Posted October 3, 2018 #16 Share Posted October 3, 2018 I talked to a cashier on the carnival sunshine(which in my opinion is the smokiest casino in a cruise ship) and it was a sad conversation. She said she knew she would die young of lung cancer but had nowhere else to go. They need a better filter there because I always get sick on that ship from the smoking. 1
catalpacove Posted November 17, 2018 #17 Share Posted November 17, 2018 I like to smoke when I’m in the casino. I would not take a cruise unless I could smoke while gambling

Rare CTSandy Posted November 18, 2018 #21 Share Posted November 18, 2018 One of the reasons I prefer Celebrity is that they have a non-smoking casino. When I do sail on ships that allow smoking, I always try to sit on an end seat so I only get smoke from one direction.
Nightengale31 Posted November 18, 2018 #22 Share Posted November 18, 2018 (edited) I am a smoker but don't enjoy being in smokey enclosed areas because heavy smoke really burns my eyes. When I want to smoke when gambling I prefer to pop over to the cigar lounge for a quick puff which when cruising on Princess on most of their ships the cigar lounge is not far from their casinos. But these lounges can be very smokey too so most times I head to the outdoor designated areas to smoke which is no big deal for me because I don't smoke inside my own house either for the same reason. Now if a cruise ship/line completely banned smoking on their ships I probably would not book with them. Casino Comp Chick Posted December 2, 2018 #23 Share Posted December 2, 2018 Yes I do, I would never sail a ship that didn’t allow me to smoke. It’s the same reason I hardly ever go to Empire city and when I do it’s never more then a few hours. 2
sellwingri Posted December 3, 2018 #24 Share Posted December 3, 2018 Royal Caribbean cruises in AU and NZ are non-smoking. It was sooooo wonderful not to be overwhelmed by smoke. Royal Caribbean owns Celebrity. I don’t understand why they don’t allow smoking on Celebrity but allow it on Royal Caribbean. They’ve been talking for years about outlawing it and need to do it now. They’ll gain more gamblers than they’ll lose.

Carnival tried a non smoking ship, quickly reversed that rule due to lack of bookings. Revel tried that in Atlantic City and went bankrupt. They both found out the hard way that is not true.
