Do casino cruises on Princess also receive a free drink card, similar to what NCL CAS offers? (Free drinks in the casino if booked on a casino sponsored free cruise offer) If yes, can you please explain the offer? If no, then boo hoo....

I have only heard that if you spend a certain amount of money you earn a feee drink. Don’t know what that number is.

If you booked a casino VIP offer, you and your cabin mate should receive a lanyard with a badge that will allow you to order drinks for free when playing in the casino. If it's not one of those offers, you can earn free drinks after a certain point or the host may stop by and offer you a drink from time to time. These sorts of things have varied from ship to ship. If you aren't booked under a VIP offer, then simply ask the host if you will get comped drinks and if not, at what point you would qualify for them.

The one time I sailed with someone who had the casino rate every time she stuck her cruise card into the slot machine it told how many free drinks she had banked. Was never more than three at a time. What the formula is, I've not a clue.

Fishywood: how long ago was that/?

We experienced that two years ago on the Star and were told it was a trial. We never saw that again on any other ship (including on a subsequent cruise on the Star) but I wish they would do something like this fleetwide.

If your on a VIP Casino Cruise (special invite cruises) you get a card to wear around neck

in casino and can get free drinks when playing. Just ask. Also cocktail party and free gifts in room.

If on a free cruise and not a VIP Casino Cruise no free drinks everyday but you may get....

Free drinks that are given out by host at tables or slots. Some cruises you may be offered a lot and other cruises

not very many.

Wife plays the slots a good bit during the cruise and we usually sale on a Casino rate. During our trip on CB August 25-September 1, no free drinks offered. We hardly saw any wait staff walking around. No worries, bar is only a few feet away and that is why she keeps me with her, I get the drinks. The last sea day, she won back everything she lost plus another $1,100.00. First time she has every won more than $100.00. It was a great sea day!

Answering my own question.....NO drink card for me.... I booked Emerald Princess VIP through a Harrah's casino offer, cruised 5 days and played quite a bit of slots. Host wandered around and offered me one cocktail. One. No bueno, Princess. Lost my money, too...….

On the plus side, the bed was super comfortable.

It depends on the cruise - I just received an e-mail for specific cruises in 2019 with an offer of 35% off on the room, $125 in 'free play" and drinks while playing in the casino.  We generally take one long cruise a year 15-20 days and on short cruise.  We just got off a 20 day cruise and have offers of $650 in free play for myself and $800 for my wife.  We will be using that on a 4 day cruise in February - for me that is a better deal and we already have a casino rate.

If you signed up using a VIP offer, you get free drinks in the casino.  I imagine you might get a sticker on your card or it's programmed.  Otherwise the only way to get free drinks is to win and make friends with the casino host.  Luckily, I've had the same host on my last 2 cruises and they remembered us.

I was given a card on a lanyard for free drinks in the Casino while playing.  I never wore it, so I don't know if it worked as promised.  I had a package, and did not need the Casino's offer.

I did notice that cocktail service was very bad -- in my daily sessions in the Casino, I think I saw cocktail servers walking around 3 times total.  And they were not asking the guests if the guests wanted a drink; they were just silently circulating as if trying not to have to work.

Like EagleTwo, I went to the bar myself for my beverages.  The bartenders were very good.
