gbenjo Posted September 30, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 30, 2018 We have done Panama Canal 2015 (Fort Lauderdale to San Francisco) with all the usual South American/ Mexican ports of call and no visas were required other than the ESTA. I don't think anything has changed.
Aus Traveller Posted September 30, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 30, 2018 We have also visited those ports a couple of times on Aussie passports. We did not need any visas. To be sure, you can go onto your government's website and check what is required for each country or go onto the website for each of those countries to check. Don't bother asking the cruise line. They will simply say that visas are your responsibility.
Rare broberts Posted September 30, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 30, 2018 Visa requirements for cruise visitors can differ from those for longer stay visitors. Mexico for instance does not require visas for cruise visitors of any nationality, https://consulmex.sre.gob.mx/sanfrancisco/index.php/visas-traveling-to-mexico. If I'm reading the link correctly, Costa Rica does not require a visa for those that have a valid visa stamp for the US or Canada in their passpports, http://www.costarica-embassy.org/index.php?q=node/72. I believe Columbia (http://www.colombia.travel/en/practical-information/visa) and Panama (http://www.embassyofpanama.ca/visas.html) do not require visas for citizens of NZ. PerfectlyPerth Posted September 30, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 30, 2018 Does NZ have a website similar to the Aus Govt site https://smartraveller.gov.au/Pages/default.aspx - I use the site and ap to find out everything for every country - from vaccinations, travel warnings, and visa/entry requirements. If not that - then your travel agent should be well aware of, and have a login with, https://www.timaticweb.com
