Yesterday the Captain and his Executive staff hosted a Luncheon for Zenith's aboard.   All 22 showed up (100% participation).   It was really a pleasure to be inducted into the Zenith Level.  We met a number of the Zenith's and they were so welcoming.   Especially enjoyed meeting Eric and Dawn (not sure of their CC Name), such a sweet couple.

Today we have been invited to the Bridge for a private celebration with the Captain where they will be giving us our Zenith Pin, etc.  Rose (Captain's Club Hostess) has really done a wonderful job of making it a celebratory cruise.

Thanks for sharing the pictures Jim, looks fabulous. Maybe one day…… xx

I think the only problem with a CS is that it is addictive.   Once we started sailing in CS's and RS we were never able to go back.   We have talked that now that we are Zenith we get so many of the perks of GoBest it might be more cost effective to sailing in Aqua Class.

We have always enjoyed Blu on the times we have eaten there.

Jim_Iain, keenly interested in your TA as will be cruising on Shilouette in July 2019.  Have only been on one other Celebrity ship, Solstice as she visits us down under every summer season (Oct-Apr), and really enjoyed that cruise and all she offered.  So will be following along your wonderful cruise.  All I can say about your suite is wow and wow.  Love all the photos.  If you have any tips for us relatively newbies on Celebrity please share.

take care....cheers V

Think you will enjoy Silhouette.   She has been voted best Ship for two years running.   I'll be posting some pictures of the interior today to help you begin salivating.   She is really looking good and the staff is all so friendly.

Have you tried any specialty restaurants on this cruise?    Do you travel on other cruise lines?    We have lost interest in acquiring enough points for Zenith.   It is such a long way from Elite Plus.    We still cruise Celebrity once every year or so and like the transatlantic from Southampton to US.    We have had very excellent experiences on Seabourn and Cunard.   You can have a Penthouse on Seabourn on a repositioning cruise for the same cost as Celebrity CS or you can sail in a Grill cabin on the QM2.   We met one couple at breakfast who had come over on the QM2 to catch this ship.   They were surprised their drinks were not included as they are in suites on Cunard.   They didn’t know about Michaels Club as no one had mentioned anything to them in a S2.    Hopefully they will be happy getting their drinks at Michaels.

We are heading southwest toward the Azores to avoid a huge storm that hit New England a day ago.   Seas are still high with an occasional 20+ swells.

Seas should calm down in a day or two but has been really rolling so far.

The celebration of hitting Zenith began today.   We had a private reception on the bridge hosted by Captain George and his executive staff.

Far more than expected with flowers, a huge Zenith Cake, special labeled wine and a model of Silhouette.

We haven't tried the Specialty Restaurants yet on this cruise but we have on other cruise.  We have a private dinner with Captain George and his Senior Staff in Murano's on Wednesday.

We are joining a friend for Petite Chef tomorrow night which will be our first time to this new "Experience".    Will of course blog about it.

This ship has Sushi on 5, Murano's (which is our favorite), Tuscan Grill and the Lawn Club.  Currently Lawn Club is closed and everything is tied down to ride out the weather.

We have never sailed another line than Celebrity.   We first sailed them in 2001 on Millennium when she was new and loved the product.   Now that we are Zenith we may try another line but hard to pass up all of the perks.

Congratulations and welcome to the Zenith Club. I'm a bit surprised that the other Zeniths weren't invited to the Bridge to welcome you and celebrate.  That's the way it's usually done. Your pin and other welcoming gifts are usually sent to your home.

How many nights or cruises does it take to become Zenith?

It takes points to hit Zenith as well as all the other levels.   Points are awarded on the number of nights x the number of points according to the classification of your room.

Zenith -   3,000 Points

Eliet+     - 750- 2,999

Elite          300-749

Select       150-299

Classic      2-149

Preview     0

Points by night are

points.jpg.4b9ab7d848adf10a7aa039c35fe69185.jpg

So number of days depend on the type of state room you choose and as you can see varies quiet a bit

So for an Inside or Ocean View       1,500 days

Penthouse                                              166 days

Maybe because there are 22 Zeniths on board the chose to have a special Zenith Lunch yesterday.   We could invite anyone we wanted to join us.    We asked a lovely lady we met, Marsha, who we met on our B2B from Vancouver to Japan and Exploration Cruise.

Afterward we were happy we did.   We were wondering where her husband was because he wasn't on the cruise and we of course wouldn't ask why.   This afternoon she broke down and told us Peter died two weeks ago.   She had been holding back telling anyone.    Hugs to Marsha.

The Zenith lunch is now standard and on some ships has replaced dinner with a Senior Officer.  been to Zenith celebrations where there were more than 22 Zeniths on board. Great that you had an option to invite fellow passengers and as it turned out you may have made a difference. Good for you.

My wife and I are aboard this TA as well.  We have a 6-night specialty dining package. So far, we’ve had dinner at Tuscan. Unfortunately, the service we received was poor (we were either completely ignored or rushed), and the food was mediocre at best.  This was very disappointing, particularly because Tuscan was our favorite restaurant the last time we sailed on the Silhouette a few years ago; the service and food then were both superb.  I have read here on CC that some folks think Tuscan has declined; based on my personal experience, I have to agree.  We’ve cancelled the two other reservations we had there.

We were supposed to eat at the Lawn Club tonight, but I checked with them because of the weather, and while they said they are serving, they advised us to move our reservation to later in the cruise, which we did (working around the two other dinners we planned to have there later on 😀).  And of course we plan to eat at Murano.

Oh dear. We booked a four dining package a few days before we sailed and have a reservation for Tuscan Grille next week.

We ate in Murano last night. The food was good and service very attentive. It wasn’t very busy in there. We have another reservation to go back next week.

We have Lawn Club Grill booked for Wednesday evening. Hopefully it’ll be calmer by then.

Following up on a couple requests -

Sue Denning - Just joined about a month ago and will probably be on through the end of they year.   Not sure of next posting.

Migle Zukaite - is on until about Jan 21 and then going home.  She isn't sure of her next assignment this far out.

Captain George  said he will be on for another 40 days - not that he is counting

Beautiful sunny skies this morning.  Seas are still choppy and swells are keeping us rolling.

I'm sharing some pics showing location and sea heights (First one is current and then noon daily through the 9th).  You're being followed by the Edge.  Hope they catch up.  But it's a good test of their capabilities through these seas.  It does look like both captains are attempting to steer south of the rougher weather/seas.  1984753753_ScreenShot2018-11-05at11_28_15AM.thumb.png.aec238f7f46933d4c9870ce7275abb68.png184691502_ScreenShot2018-11-05at11_28_28AM.thumb.png.38ec6cb5a44f1d0d3b09aca4d497ffd1.png1296093737_ScreenShot2018-11-05at11_38_02AM.thumb.png.5e09a1c3fa76171ced2c8e285e80d8c8.png807375749_ScreenShot2018-11-05at11_38_19AM.thumb.png.a8bf28f37a30846c0a680550ce8e9f83.png2093125452_ScreenShot2018-11-05at11_38_33AM.thumb.png.8dfceddf39fb0a99eaabb30f0b7a7d29.png1368425027_ScreenShot2018-11-05at11_38_45AM.thumb.png.f18fafc32a59051a1dab1ff7cf6d62bc.png
