Tahina cruising Posted December 31, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2018 I will be on the Celebrity Equinox in February and I am super excited!! I will have 2 sea days. How early do I need to get up to get a chair in the sun by the pool? That is where I'm hoping to plant myself for both sea days.

Nymich Posted January 1, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 1, 2019 Pool decks are a mess on every cruise we go on. I guess the suggestion of 8 am is a pretty safe bet.
jelayne Posted January 1, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 1, 2019 I have gone out a 10 and had no problem- but if you want to sit right next to pool that could be more difficult. I prefer to be a bit away from the pool but on tge same deck.
Tahina cruising Posted January 1, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted January 1, 2019 I wouldn't mind being a row or more back from the pool but want to be on the same level. Hopefully in the sun.
Rare chemmo Posted January 2, 2019 #6 Share Posted January 2, 2019 (edited) We have usually managed to get sunbeds somewhere on S class ships on seadays, even towards midday. Don’t rule out those one deck up, they can give you more of a feeling of space than those poolside. The only ship we did struggle on was Reflection where by mid morning every bit of the lawn had gone as well as the sunbeds! Our solution was to enjoy our swim just leaving tops etc on a ledge near the pool then strolling to the sunset bar to drip on the stools enjoying pina colada’s.... Remember that you are not supposed to reserve chairs and your possessions can be removed by staff if unattended for more than 30 minutes. Always annoying to see prime seating being enjoyed by a book and a towel clip! This policy seems to be employed on some cruises more than others. Have to agree: Reflection is another story - suffice to say that you won’t get an inch of lawn, never mind a lounger 😆. I just hope this doesn’t become the norm on all the other ships in the fleet after the ‘Revolution’ when all the additional cabins (also less public space) have been installed. yorky Posted January 2, 2019 #8 Share Posted January 2, 2019 You will be fine at 8am although the ones on the same level as the pool in the sun go first, the one under the shade tend to be available far later. I never understand the popularity of beds next to the pool if you don’t use the pool and many don’t. As another poster stated you can go a level up and get chairs far later and it’s still the same sun.
