FireEMT978 Posted January 9, 2019 #11 Share Posted January 9, 2019 Why not just bring 1 for yourself. For the entire cruise? I'm not a tree hugger. But, it should last the entire time.

Now that they're winning the straw battle, they'll come up with something else to declare war on.

Heinz is in the process of overhauling all of their single serve packaging. Straws already had viable replacement options available.
SausPud Posted January 9, 2019 #17 Share Posted January 9, 2019 I bought some metal straws as I hate the feel and taste of a cardboard straw.

Max and Ruby Posted January 9, 2019 #21 Share Posted January 9, 2019 So you cannot bring a few plastic straws on board? Had planned on doing that for kids. I used a metal straw with rubber tip for my cruise without the kids. I just don’t know if kids will clean their metal straws like I did each time. I was in Florida on vacation last May and all the bars there had already switched to paper straws. They are awful. I will be bringing a stash of my own straws on NOS this May.... Since I haven’t been following I did not know if this was a real thing or a joke.
cruisegirl1 Posted February 5, 2019 #25 Share Posted February 5, 2019 We had several drink on our cruise last week. We were given a straw with each tall or frozen drink. Never even asked. Had several frozen drinks and had no problem using the paper type straw. Sorry don't understand the big deal with the paper straws or why the cruise line cares if you want to bother bringing some plastic straws. I would hate to get a drink and then run back to the cabin to get a plastic straw. Or, plan my drinking around my straw availability, or carry some straws with me, or wash out the metal straws! Yikes...... M
