Doug & Cindy Scrap Hunter Posted February 25, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2019 Thinking of starting to visit a gym while I am on a cruise & just wanted to know how busy they get? Is there a time of day when less folks visit?
Luvcrusn Posted February 25, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2019 Similar to many land based gyms they are busiest in the mornings, less busy at dinner.
JerseyGirlatHeart Posted February 25, 2019 #3 Share Posted February 25, 2019 We found that the Gym is busiest the first sea day (maybe two if back to back sea days) and the last sea day in the morning. We try and go around 1ish pm on those days, the rest of the time we hit the Gym at 6ish am and have had no problems getting equipment.
Longboysfan Posted February 25, 2019 #4 Share Posted February 25, 2019 Busy from about 7:30am till 10am most days. Sea days are more so.
4774Papa Posted February 25, 2019 #5 Share Posted February 25, 2019 Even though Celebrity cruises are usually filled with Seniors, the fitness centers are usually fairly busy. I like riding the exercise cycle and usually don't have to wait long for one to be available. The gym is a great way to work off some of the extra calories that you might get on a cruise. Stumptowngal Posted February 25, 2019 #6 Share Posted February 25, 2019 Lunch time and very late afternoon didn’t seem to be too crowded in the firness center on the Silhouette a few weeks ago.
Rare Jim_Iain Posted February 25, 2019 #7 Share Posted February 25, 2019 I'm an early raiser and like to workout first thing. Often at 7:00 the gym is rather busy but can usually get an Elliptical or Treadmill with little to no wait. I find that afternoons and evenings to be lightly used. bonsai3s Posted February 25, 2019 #8 Share Posted February 25, 2019 Agree with everyone...the gym's usually busy in the morning. The best times, in our opinion, are between 2pm - 4pm....most passengers are napping and the gym's usually empty. Happy sailing and have a great workout. mfs2k Posted February 25, 2019 #9 Share Posted February 25, 2019 If there’s any chance I’ll be in the gym it will be in the morning before I pig out on breakfast and start drinking in the afternoon. Apparently Im not alone since that’s when the gym is busiest. Or I can stop the fantasy of going to the gym on vacation and leave the gym clothes at home. 1

That's generally when I go. Sometimes I'll go twice a day ;30 mins of cardio around noon time then weight training at 4,followed by a relaxing session at the sauna then nicely showered for pre-dinner drinks!
