cole'snana Posted March 19, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 19, 2019 From the Ft Lauerdale cruise terminal (on CP) what is the closest spot to pick up the water taxi?
capriccio Posted March 19, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 19, 2019 The closest stop is on the west side (port side) of the bridge at the Hilton Marina. The stop is actually under the bridge. It is a short walk from terminals 2 and 4 (exit to Eisenhower Blvd and turn right, at the 17th Street light cross the street and turn right). Under the 17th St bridge near the Hilton Marina Hotel 1881 SE 17th St west side. The Hilton Marina is across from the Walgreens at 17th St and Eisenhower. Just outside the port entrance and across 17th St from Pier #
CruiserBruce Posted March 19, 2019 #4 Share Posted March 19, 2019 A quick Google search finds the water taxi website, here: https://watertaxi.com/ with all sorts of info. Maps, routes, fares, etc...
BlueHerons Posted March 19, 2019 #5 Share Posted March 19, 2019 Make sure you stay on the water taxi at night, the views are beautiful! Lots of good restaurants they stop at.

The boat pilots will tell you when the last boat will be at your stop.
nhraformula00 Posted March 21, 2019 #7 Share Posted March 21, 2019 look for a groupon before your trip for the water taxi. $$$$$$$$$$ saves a lot.
goneclear Posted March 22, 2019 #8 Share Posted March 22, 2019 If you are interested in doing the water taxi as a personal tour i suggest waiting for the catamaran type two story water taxi. They have more room and also have a bar on board for your convenience. Enjoy a cocktail and cruise the waterways. AS others have said evening times are special. Wildcatfish Posted July 8, 2019 #9 Share Posted July 8, 2019 We're looking to spend a few hours the evening prior to our cruise. From 17th St. … Any suggestions whether to go north to Las Olas, or south to Margaritaville? Any experience you want to share is appreciated! Both are good options. I personally would go to Margaritaville and enjoy the walking the broadwalk and live music at the bandshell in the evenings. But Las Olas is decent in the evening as well, but to me, a little more limited to dining and maybe walking the riverwalk.
Wildcatfish Posted July 8, 2019 #11 Share Posted July 8, 2019 Thanks BNBR! Good points all around. Anyone else have any "water taxi " experiences?
CruiserBruce Posted July 8, 2019 #12 Share Posted July 8, 2019 I would go north on the water taxi. Far more to see and do.
BlueHerons Posted July 9, 2019 #13 Share Posted July 9, 2019 I love Margaritaville (although the restaurants are hurting for business) but at night definitely do the northern route. There is nothing to see once past Port Everglades until you get to Hollywood. It's miles of park and darkness.
BNBR Posted July 9, 2019 #14 Share Posted July 9, 2019 Just to clarify. If you are asking which route is more scenic because you want to stay on the water taxi, go north. If you are asking which destination would be better once you get off, go south.
