Those who have been to Bermuda on an overnight (or more) what are your thoughts and impressions of Bermuda?

Typical island that has become like everything else (Diamonds international and the same blah blah....)

We love our sea days - will we love our docked days?

Bermuda is not like your typical Caribbean stop. It is sub tropical and their primary source of income is not tourism like almost every Caribbean stop. The British influence is more apparent in Bermuda than old territories in the Caribbean. You will find Bermuda a pleasant mix of America and Britain on an island. People are friendly, beaches are beautiful and you aren’t constantly being asked to buy some trinket. We went 2 years ago for the America’s Cup and loved it. Booked on the 8/4/19 this year and we can’t wait.

We have done Bermuda several times and depending on the itinerary, the ship is more like a hotel because you can come and go at all hours with multi day stops in one port.  The island and beaches are beautiful and generally it's a more laid back cruise experience.  Unless something has changed since we were last there, on board shops and the casino are closed when in the ports, so you have limited time in them if that is important to you.

Bermuda is beautiful.  Have taken many cruises to Bermuda. Also, have flown in and stayed in hotels. Love the pink beaches. There are many interesting things to do and see. To really enjoy Bermuda, stay longer. It is heavenly.

Adding my agreement with other comments here.  Bermuda is well worth seeing......beautiful island, fabulous beaches, friendly people.  And if you like a nice cocktail, go to the Swizzle Inn and enjoy a pitcher of Swizzle!!!!

We have been to Bermuda 3 times, only once on a cruise out of Bayonne, NJ. We sailed on a small Celebrity ship and were able to spend 2 nights in Hamilton and 2 in St George's. They even moved our mopes from port to port. It is a great place to visit and is unlike cruising the Caribbean. The Swizzle Inn is a must for first time visitors.

Frog and Onion pub  near the pier was fun..locals and tourists, live music...some nice shops there at  Kings Wharf...

Loved our waterway tour and bus tour  over the whole island,   you can rent jet skis, have fun at the beaches,  Hamilton is nice too...

Nothing is cheap but Bermuda us very classy!

Bermuda is our absolutely favorite place to go.  We usually fly in and stay but in 2 weeks we are boarding the Azamara Journey for a cruise that will have 2 nights docked in Hamilton - a special treat, because most ships dock out at Dockyard on the West End of the island.

Bermuda has put a lot of effort into developing the area around the piers.  There's Dolphin Quest, Calico Jack's a pirate ship bar you can swim and walk the plank from.  The National Museum of Bermuda is very nice and Dolphin Quest is in the same complex, so you can sit and watch them for the price of admission to the museum.

There is a beach there, but it's man-made and not a good example of a typical pink (not PINK) sand beaches on the South Shore.  They are adding a movie theater, have a mini golf course, a trampoline park and many shops.

To really see the best of Bermuda, you need to get out and explore.  Hire a local tour guide, get a transportation pass and ride the bus and ferry.  Go to the Aquarium and Zoo, Crystal Caves or Gibbs Hill lighthouse (for spectacular views),  Head over to St George on the East End and take in all the history of the island's first settlement.  Have a fish sandwich at Woody's - a great local place just a short bus ride from Dockyard,  Get a Swizzle, a Dark and Stormy or locally brewed beer at the Frog and Onion.

Head into Hamilton on the ferry and check out the local pubs, restaurants and shops.  If you are in port on a Wednesday, they run Harbor Nights in Hamilton - a great street festival with dancing, music, street food, Gombey Dancers.

For those who want to hang around the ship - and I don't understand that - they are allowed to open the casinos from 9pm to 6am - that's fairly recent change.

Go enjoy!

Went to Bermuda for the first time last October and it instantly became our favorite port. We’re going back this October and can’t wait to revisit St. George’s, Tobacco Bay Beach, and Horseshoe Bay Beach!
