havanadaydreaming Posted May 27, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2019 what's your favorite buffet item on Carnival? I wonder if there is any consensus from the board. it's been a few years since I've sailed CCL, but im coming back soon and we will certainly hit the buffet at least twice. Rare SRQbeachgirl Posted May 27, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 27, 2019 Made to order omelets. Unfortunately, it seems like half the ship has the same idea every time I show up for breakfast.
coevan Posted May 27, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 27, 2019 rarely do we eat at the buffet, but when they have the carved roast beef I get a hoagie from the deli and have the carver slice me some very thin slices for my fresh RB sandwich. 2
CheersPkg4Us Posted May 27, 2019 #4 Share Posted May 27, 2019 Technically, it's not the buffet but the strawberry soft serve ice cream is the real deal !
mvaygibson Posted May 27, 2019 #5 Share Posted May 27, 2019 I really enjoy the chocolate muffins and grits at breakfast, the garlic bread, and the hot chocolate.

okgirl Posted May 27, 2019 #8 Share Posted May 27, 2019 Hard Boiled eggs and cookies to take back to my cabin fridge for late night snacks. Other than that I rarely go to the buffet, even on port days when I don't get off the ship. On those days I eat lunch at the Deli or Cucina. ABQrobin Posted May 27, 2019 #10 Share Posted May 27, 2019 Fresh cut up fruit - canteloupe and watermelon in particular. My hubby hates both, I rarely buy them at home. So I eat them every morning at breakfast!

crooooze Posted May 27, 2019 #16 Share Posted May 27, 2019 We love the fancy layered cakes they have during lunch. They never have the same cakes out for dessert during dinner.

Shaded Lady Posted May 27, 2019 #18 Share Posted May 27, 2019 Sweet egg custard tarts on the breakfast buffet... And to AHS123 do you eat from the big pan of pre-made scrambled eggs? I ask because I HATED them- found out later they're made from powdered eggs... now I wait in line at the omelet station and get them to scramble me a couple of fresh eggs... much better, in my opinion.

Would rather eat freshly made omelet than pre made eggs that have been sitting around possibly for hours

OK good to know... but I still don't care for them... I find the texture weird and the taste is just off for me... DH doesn't care, he just doesn't like to wait in the omelet line so he eats them, unless I'm willing to get him an omelet while I'm waiting in line for my scrambled eggs!
coevan Posted May 27, 2019 #22 Share Posted May 27, 2019 100% egg, many buffets use them, only a matter if they are overcooked and dry. On the Conquest, they had the best and well prepared eggs in the buffet. The only thing we don't like about the omelette station is the amount of grease they use. Also the pans on the electric burner are not hot enough, taking forever to make an omelette, causing huge lines.

I order my eggs with just the Pam cooking spray which is how I make them at home.

havanadaydreaming Posted May 27, 2019 Author #25 Share Posted May 27, 2019 I hate to admit it but I love the scrambled eggs on buffets. I guess I prefer mine bordering on overcooked, definitely not undercooked. that said I always make egg whites at home. love em.
