Secretlyfi Posted May 29, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 29, 2019 I know the rules about not bringing food on or off the ship. But does that apply to packaged items you can buy in port? I’m thinking Bermuda Rum Cakes from the Dockyard shop. Was thinking of picking up a few to bring back home. Is it allowed or will I be in the naughty room? Thanks
awestover89 Posted May 29, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 29, 2019 As long as it's packages and doesn't contain fruit, meat, or cheese it's fine. We've bought candy, rum cakes, popcorn, and a wide variety of other local foods.

ALWAYS check the dates.

DonnaK Posted May 29, 2019 #9 Share Posted May 29, 2019 (edited) I also suggest bringing home some fudge from the fudge shop in the Clocktower Mall. Delicious! Edited May 29, 2019 by DonnaK
gatour Posted May 29, 2019 #10 Share Posted May 29, 2019 What can be brought back on ship may vary than what can be brought back once the ship returns to the United States.

GEORGIEGIRL Posted May 30, 2019 #12 Share Posted May 30, 2019 I have seen HUGE "wheels" of Gouda cheese being brought on the ship by passengers when we have docked in St. Maartin (not sure of the spelling).

SRF Posted May 30, 2019 #17 Share Posted May 30, 2019 For the US, cheese is OK, except for very soft or liquid cheeses. Milk and meat (and meat products) and fresh fruits are NOT allowed. https://www.foxnews.com/travel/woman-fined-500-for-saving-free-delta-air-lines-snack The fine was dropped later, but you cannot bank on that. When in Cozumel or Progresso we buy mangos and avocados and bring them back on and no one has ever said anything about it. they are in our bag when scanned and one of the employees were excited to see mangos so we gave him one. dreadpirate3 Posted May 30, 2019 #20 Share Posted May 30, 2019 I saw passengers stopped in Nassau Monday with takeout from the fish fry. They had to throw it out before they boarded the ship.
Merion_Mom Posted May 30, 2019 #21 Share Posted May 30, 2019 As many of us know, the most painful lesson comes in Portland, Maine. You have bought some delicious doughnuts or whoopee pies, only to have the security staff take them from you. Sad, sad, sad,
