Port Canaveral Parking

I always park at the port because of a horrible experience with off site parking in Miami.  My husband is in a wheelchair and prior to parking at this place I inquired if they had a wheelchair accessible shuttle and was told they did. The alarms should have gone off when I pulled into the lot and they said they did not have any handicap spaces and they would park the car.  We unloaded and they took the car and then we waited for the promised accessible shuttle.  After waiting 20 minutes in the sun and asking several employees they finally admitted they did not have an accessible shuttle.  We ended up with my son and son in law carrying my husband up stairs into the shuttle and down again at the port.  Maybe not all off site lots are like this but I won't take a chance again.  No discount is worth it.  Needless to say I did report the lot for non compliance with ADA requirements.

Miami is a totally different story for off site parking. I would not do it in Miami. Port Canaveral and Port Everglades off site parking is totally different and very safe.

And was the reason I started parking with outside companies.  Have really great service with ParkNCruise.  They give 10% Veterans discount, and every 5th visit free.  🙂

Park n Cruise has a web site called Lots of Honor Veterans pay $8.95 a day.

I believe many of the off site lots also charge 8 days for a 7 night cruise.    Easy to do the math and see if the convenience  of the port  is worth the extra $$.

M

Lets say you park from the 1st to the 7th You are charged from the 1st to the 7th 7 days. No additional days. If you are saying because you arrive at 10:00 AM on the 1st day and leave there at 8:00 AM the 7th day you are being charged an extra day because you were not parked for a full day. Remember. The rate for hourly parking is usually $2.00 an hour. So being charged for a day is less than the hourly rate.

They may be safe but all off site parking seems to not be very compliant with ADA requirements and accessibility.

Thanks....that is strange though.  I usually punch in discount code "Veteran" on their regular website and it comes up as 9.85 a day  (10% discount off regular rate).  Wonder why they set these up separately and different pricing?  If you book through the "Lots of Honor" page...do they give you every 5th visit free?  Thanks again for the heads up.  🙂

Are these off site parking lots covered? We prefer covered parking.

No, they are not.  It's a case of "get what you pay for".   My little SUV sits outside at home, so no real difference to me if I park outside now.  Used to have bigger garage at home, until we downsized. Now DH's rag top Jeep gets the treasured space in our single stall garage.    😮

You are correct. One day I was checking on Vets discount for off site parking. Up comes Lots of Honor $8.95 a day. So I check to see where they are located. 1700 Sea Ray Drive Phone 866-706-8999 That sounded very familiar. Yup Park n Cruise. So going back to the lots of Honor site closer to the bottom is shows Park n Cruise. Check it out.

Park n Go in Ft. Lauderdale is totally different with there Veterans discount. Both have free parking after so many but calculate them differently.

Both Park n Cruise Port Canaveral and Park n Go in Ft. Lauderdale handle ADA excellent. They just need to know beforehand. Park n Cruise you usually park you car unless they are full up. Park n Go parks you car.

Yep, pay as you enter.

We typically don't Park at the port. Neighbors drop us off and I cab home. We sail Harmony August 4.  Maybe I'll drop the car off Friday afternoon and have it waiting for me the following Sunday. 🤔

Can I come park at your house and have you drop me off and pick me up? Pretty please with a cherry on top😊

At port Canaveral they charge for 8 days.  At Port Everglades and Miami they only charge for 7.

The place we had an issue in Miami was a Park n Go and I called to ask about an accessible shuttle before I booked.  They told me they did have an accessible shuttle but when we got there they said they never had anything but would "find a way to make it work".  Perhaps the Park n Go at Ft. Lauderdale is better.  It was just very frustrating and scary knowing how someone could have gotten injured.

Thanks again.  I will certainly pull up the "Lots of Honor" the next time I book with ParkNCruise...since they are the same people anyway.  🙂

I made a pre-paid reservation at Lots of Honor for September 2017.  Hurricane Irma hit the day of my cruise and numerous cruises were cancelled.  I attempted to call Lots of Honor, but the call was not answered and their voicemail box was full.  I sent them an email requesting a refund, although I thought that they would have done that automatically when cruises were cancelled and a hurricane hit the day I was scheduled to park.    I did  not receive a response to the email, and in October 2017 I disputed the charge with my credit card company.  I don't believe that "Lots of Honor" is all that honorable and would not book with them again.

LOL...luckily I can't take the cigarette smoke...it keeps me out of the casinos and away from blowing my limited income retirement fund.  😄

Many cruise lines now have no smoking casinos. Some have certain areas for smoking. Helps some what. But most are stopping it completely. That I like a lot.

I don't gamble, but it was one of my favorite things about the X cruise we took.  It sure was nice to be able to use that entire area: bars, shops, general walking through, etc. on our cruise.
