I have noticed that sometimes when you use an offer is disappears from "Added to the Card".  Other times it is there until the credit appears.  If it disappears, sometimes the day before the credit appears you can look under savings and you will see that it has been redeemed.  Your credit usually shows up the next day.

Mine is already showing up under “Savings”, though it has not posted yet.

I made final payment 6/24 of $399 and so this made me sad, but I followed the advice on this thread and called and asked that card to be refunded and charged the Amex and they happily obliged!

My 6 night cruise is now a total of $727

out the door!

TIA

Our cruises are paid off. I purchased $350.00 in cruise cash. It’s still pending but it shows up Carnival Cruise Lines. So it shouldn’t be a problem.

It will depend how it posts as a final transaction.  Qualifying transactions post to my AMEX as with the merchant as "CARNIVAL CRUISE LINE RSVR" or "CARNIVAL CRUISE LINES RESERVATION".

If you purchased Cruise Cash through the Fun Shops, those have always posted to my Carnival MC (I've never used AMEX for Fun Shops purchases) as "CARNIVAL- THE FUN SHOP".  I'm pretty sure the AMEX offer is triggered by charges from Carnival Reservations, not just Carnival.

I've always gotten an email from AMEX thanking me for participating in the promotion within minutes of making a qualifying transaction.  Did you get an email?

footballbabe3....did the offer go through with the cruise cash option? My TA doesnt accept AMEX so was wondering if that worked so I could take advantage of the offer.

Check your AMEX offers again - one popped up this morning for $75 of $350!  This time it's Carnival only, valid until 8/19/19...  I have one of the Delta cards.

Thanks OP, it wasn't on my Delta Card, but it was on my regular old Green Card.  I check regularly for these offers but hadn't caught this one, appreciate the heads up!

They should have gotten an email almost immediately after they made the purchase, my credit actually already went through (made charge on July 3rd credit showed up July 4th, not too bad).  So if it is showing up pending and they have not received the email it probably did not work.  If you read the fine print of the offer is specifically says reservations only and excludes pretty much everything else.  Based on charges I have made with Carnival with my AMEX they all have different names for different types of charges on my statement, but they all start with Carnival Cruise (Carnival Cruise Shorex, Carnival Cruise Reservation, Carnival Cruise LineMiami FL, and etc). I will say I have never bought Cruise Cash before but I am assuming it will not be charged under reservations which is Carnival Cruise Reservation, Carnival Cruise RSVR, or Carnival Cruise LineMiami FL.

So How did you purchase the cruise cash to get it to show up as reservation?

I didn't.  I was talking about qualifying transactions in terms of payments for reservations.

Since cruise cash purchases go through the Fun Shops, I really don't think there's a way to buy cruise cash and qualify for the offer, and I've yet to see someone report doing it successfully.

That's the same card that gives me the offer.

That "big box store" always charges a cancellation fee right, even when you book a refundable rate with that cruise line?  I don't like that.

I don't think they charge a fee.  The rate was $300 cheaper than my casino rate because it was a buyer's choice.  So let's hope I don't have to cancel.

WooHoo! Thanks OP! I’ve been checking periodically for this , but love when someone gives the heads up! Just saved $150 on our next cruise. Hubby and I both have a AmEX blue cash card and both got the offer! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Who anyone who got the targeted offer, please post the link?

I don't believe that there is a link you can use to get it. You are either offered it, or not.

I went to the offer and saw what was there as a link, and it was only a general one to offers.

When you clicked on it to add to your card, the line following the https://   at the top of the computer would be the link others could try to follow

I don't know whether this will work if you do not have it offered on your card, but here's the link:

I'm not quite sure there's a backdoor link for this offer and I don't think that's the process either to obtain the link. In the past, Carnival Corporation's backdoor links have always been /wlcl. When it was focused on just Carnival or Princess, none of the Amex Offer communities have ever been able to share one.

Another example is the Marriott offer... they are available dependent upon the card you have. This time, the backdoor link is /marriottsummer whereas in the past, they have used /marriottoffer and /spgoffer.

The Carnival offer isn't even located on the portal for third party issued Amex cards this time around.

Slickdeals was broadcasting it without the backdoor link also.
