New Carnival AMEX Offer!

 Share

Recommended Posts

Help me out, here.  I have an AMEX card through Wells Fargo.  When I first got it last fall, there was an offer, which I used on a cruise payment.  But I don't remember how to access this.  Do I get to it from the American Express website even though my card is with WF?

Someone refresh my memory, please!

And, of course, my card was compromised last weekend and it's been cancelled.  Waiting for my new one to arrive, which probably won't happen until next week, thanks to the holiday, so I don't even know what my new card # will be.  Sigh.

I have amex through amex not wells fargo so I can't say for sure with your situation, but I log into amex website and towards the bottom there's a section for "Offers" and I look at the list of available ones and hit the "add to card" button.

There's also a way to do it on twitter with the amex twitter account but I forgot how that works or if you can still do that.

Is it only for reservations? I am paid off but want to purchase the Cheers package.

No, but you could try buying OBC. That worked for me on a similar Amex offer last year.

Thanks for the heads up, I added it to my Delta Am Ex card. The fine print terms and conditions say valid only for reservations made from 7/3 thru 8/19 though. I am going to try and pay some of my current reservation balance and see what happens :)

It will work.

Have searched everywhere and can't find the site that looks like whatever I used last time.  Would be nice if someone could post a direct link, just in case I'm missing something (assuming you get to this from an AMEX site rather than through my bank).

AMEX, benefits, my offers, Carnival.

Just used it for a Norway Fiords cruise.  Thx, OP for alerting us!

I also use AARP gift cards to pay off my cruises and casino bill.  Nice way to bring the fares down!

How would I go about doing that? I am a first timer.  I will call to see if I can do it....but if I can, do I just book obc and then use that to purchase the Cheers package?

Check your AMEX offers again - one popped up this morning for $75 of $350!  This time it's Carnival only, valid until 8/19/19...  I have one of the Delta cards.

Thanks for the heads up!  I have both the Hilton and the Delta and it was available for the Hilton so perfect timing as I am getting ready to book a January 2021 birthday cruise!

I'd call and ask if they'll refund part of your original payment and then charge the AMEX - they did that for me in the past.

The direct link that worked last time isn't working this time - this offer is a bit different, only for Carnival!  I checked before my first post  😞

Hi all! Does anyone have experience using this type of offer when booked though a travel agent? The T&C’s are specific to the Carnival 1-800 number and website, though when the TA runs the charges, Carnival is the merchant. Would love to hear from anyone who’s used this offer when making a payment through their TA before. Thank you.

It has worked for me before as long as the TA gives your AMEX payment info to Carnival, in which case the charge shows up as from Carnival Reservations and qualifies under the offer.

If your TA charges your AMEX themselves and separately remits payment to Carnival, it will not qualify because the merchant will show up as your travel agent, not Carnival Reservations.

Thanks! That’s what I was hoping and expecting would happen if the merchant is Carnival. My CC charges show up as Carnival on my CC statement from this TA so I’ll do it. Another $75 saved is great for me. Thanks again!

Exactly.  I saved $100 off the deposit for my next cruise with the last AMEX offer and will save $75 on final payment with this offer.  Add $100 shareholder credit and $200 casino cash and I've saved almost half the cost of this cruise.

Once you have the OBC, you can use it for anything on board including the Cheers package.

We have always done this through our TA with no problem. One time we used it for a Carnival cruise on the last day the offer was valid, and our TA said he would be sure to rush the payment, and as usual we received the AMEX credit with no problem.

FYI: If you have another user on your AMEX acct then they should have this offer through their login as well.

I essentially got $150 back from this offer by paying $350 towards the deposit then doing another $350 using my wife's card who is the additional user on my primary acct.

I paid off some of my current booking and received a confirmation email right away from Am Ex however it did state credit will be applied if terms and conditions are met.

Both my husband and I have Am Ex cards (different accounts) and I had the offer but he did not.

For those that are trying to find it, once you log into your account, scroll down on main page and see the section Amex Offers & Benefits (you can filter by travel) and Carnival offer will be there. But like I said, my husband's card did not have the offer, but mine did.

That's what I did.  The Carnival offer on the website disappeared after I paid $350 each on my card and hubby's card.   But no confirmation email.

I supposed that since the offers disappeared it means they were used?

I have noticed that sometimes when you use an offer is disappears from "Added to the Card".  Other times it is there until the credit appears.  If it disappears, sometimes the day before the credit appears you can look under savings and you will see that it has been redeemed.  Your credit usually shows up the next day.
