my cruise comped by a land casino so not sure what level i am

My guess is that you will start at the House level drinks, but I'm not sure what is included at that beverage level.  I'm sure someone can jump in to provide an overview!

It is based on you tier level with Casinos at Sea (Jade, Pearl, Sapphire, Ruby or Elite.)  I am not sure about the other levels, but I know Ruby and Elite get the Ultimate beverage card. (Can drink any liquor on the ship - no price limit 😁👍)  There are a couple of drink levels below Ultimate (Premium & House?) but I'm not sure which go to what level.

I've never been on an NCL cruise so do not have a CAS level with NCL.

I have checked out the levels, however not sure what level I'd be at.

with the house level, you can get any beer and "rail" drinks.  so you can ask for vodka, just can't ask for Grey goose.  You can also get sodas, red bulls and bottle waters.  If you want a brand above rail, then you'll get a $5 credit towards the drink when using the house card.  Since i'm mostly a beer and wine drinker, the house card is more than good enough for me.  i did get a brandy once, and it tasted good.  I didn't ask what brand it was

Do I have to be playing at a machine or can I order at the bar? I"ve looked up the answer and seem to be getting both answers as correct/incorrect.

I don't drink alot so looking mainly to get free diet pepsi and sprite for my son.

you can just walk up to the bar.  I know you can get one alcoholic drink at a time (compared to 2 at a time with the UDP), or one drink and a bottled water.  I point this out to prepare you to the possibility that you can only get one soda at a time (never tried, so I don't know the exact rule for soft drinks).  That being said, I've wanted two wines to take to dinner or a show, and I never had a problem with ordering one and coming right back and ordering another.

You would be at the Jade level. You do not get any free drinks from the casino. You have to get to the Pearl level to get drinks (5,000 points @ $5 per point on a slot machine)

Now I'm confused. I received a CAS free cruise through my land based casino which included free drinks at the casino.

I know that if I was a brand new player I'd need to get up to Jade level to get free drinks but I was told I would get free drinks right away. 😞

As a CAS guest, a Jade level players card will be waiting for you and your guest in your cabin when you arrive.

You will get free drinks as long as you are booked via CAS with your certificate.  I have never booked with a certificate, so I can't be sure of what level, but it will at least be House level drinks.  (another poster described House level above.)  It will include canned soda for your son, bottled water, energy drinks and specialty coffees.  (On the coffee, don't quote me but you should be able to get at least the espresso and lattes made at the casino bar.  I have the Ultimate card so I can get the Starbucks coffee (not available at the casino bar - the attendants have to go elsewhere to get it) but I can't confirm that is available to everyone??)

Just back from my cruise.

My casino card (Jade) and Drink card (house drinks) was in my room when I arrived.

Gambled but did not win.

I have no idea how anyone could get to the next level - wow it was hard to win anything at the casino.

I did drink alot of diet coke and probably saved a huge amount had I had to pay for it separately.

I would probably just get the pop package as the casino was closed port days (which I knew about) but also during two of the sea days.

Welcome home

Getting to the next level is not based on your winnings.
