I agree, it has to be a show that is not too terribly long!

He said that RCI had booked CATS because they really wanted Phantom, and Andrew Lloyd Webber insisted they take CATS first. Now I hesitated to mention this because I didn't want people jumping down my throat, but this is indeed what he said. We had sat in the front row, and instead of standing in line waiting to leave at the end of the show, we just sat and chatted with our friends. This guy came out from behind the stage and saw us and came up and starting talking to us. He also said that Mama Mia was taken off Quantum because it was not playing to that culture. He said that the Asian market wanted two things - Casinos and Vegas showgirl type entertainment.
Dred pilot Roberts Posted July 15, 2019 #78 Share Posted July 15, 2019 To bad i was on the quantum inaugural and thought Mama Mia was the best music on royal to date. The cast was spectacular. DPR 1

Why not? correct me if I'm wrong, but no show has run more than 5 years since the Oasis class debuted. Oasis (from memory) started with Hair Spray around 2009 and switched to Cats in 2014. Allure started with Chicago in 2010 or so and switched in 2015.

This version ran in Las Vegas for a few years. They cut the Intermission, and move the Chandelier crash to the end. They ended up cutting about a half-hour from the show. Also, when I saw Cats on Oasis (the infamous Noro-Cruise,) it was simply AMAZING! I have seen Cats, now 5 times and this production was the best!

With all the hype going on for the new CATS movie, and the cast of actresses/actors (Taylor Swift, Judi Dench, Jennifer Hudson and many more), there may be a brand new audience of cruisers who will be eager to see Cats after seeing the movie. Saw it three times. Front right, mid left, and from the engineers panel. Nevermind, now that I think about it, they only had two shows, the Saturday matinee didnt happen. So the pics from 3 views was in February. And that set had a lot of cast changes for the guys. Old Deuteronomy was sick. And NCL's Epic has Priscilla. So I'm guessing it will be a no on those two, but I don't know if cruise ships lock down being exclusive ship showing the show? John Reid Posted July 18, 2019 #100 Share Posted July 18, 2019 Word is that in a cost cutting measure similar to what's happening to headliners, the new movie will be shown instead.
