First Celebrity Cruise.....need hotel

There are three couples going on a March Celebrity cruise.  Two couples will be flying in and need a reasonable hotel that can pick up at the airport and shuttle to the cruise port and then shuttle back to the airport on embarkation day.  Does anyone have a suggestion.

If in North America, I suggest you find then research the forum for your cruise port at https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/314-north-american-homeports/. That is where you can discuss hotel, transportation, dining & embarkation info with your fellow Cruise Critic members. Some are locals and will have good information for you.

Ft. Lauderdale airport, Port Everglades.  Sorry, that would help, wouldn't it.

I'm sorry, It would help if I told more information.  Flying in to Ft. Lauderdale airport and sailing from Port Everglades.

We almost always stay at the Embassy Suites on SE 17th St. There is a Ross dept store across the street (and a luggage store in case you have any damage) and behind the hotel there is a Total Wine, Publix, and Marshall's. Tons of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel does a free happy hour every night from 5-7 pm with drinks and nibbles. Great breakfast included - lots of hot, made to order & continental items to pick from. They have a shuttle to Port Everglades but we find it's cheaper and faster to just get a taxi to the pier. We've also stayed at the Pier 66 hotel and the Hilton Marina (we're staying there again next month just for a change of pace) - also nice hotels but not in quite as convenient a spot as ES (you can still walk to the shops & restaurants from P66 & HM, just a 20ish min walk compared to mere minutes from ES).

Most hotels don't have a free shuttle to the cruise port, but will usually have one available for a fee. Ignore that and just get an Uber or Lyft (or taxi). I've seen them charge as much as $25/pp for a 10 minute shuttle ride. Plus you have to wait until everyone is on the shuttle, and then wait for them to get off. I just summon an Uber XL (more room, usually an SUV), walk right past the people gathering for the shuttle and hop in, then we're at the port before the shuttle even leaves. And usually costs about $15.

We are staying at Tranquilo Beach Resort - less than $150 a night.  We usually stay at Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina but they wanted $350.  Of course, we are staying on Valentine's as our cruise leaves on the 15th of February.

We like Hyatt Place Airport/Cruiseport. They shuttle from the airport to hotel is free. You sign up for the shuttle to Port Everglades when you arrive at the hotel. The shuttle leaves every hour.  The cost is about $20pp. You could also use Uber or taxi. The hotel is clean, has an outdoor pool, bar in the lobby, choice of 2 queen or one  king bed, a separate seating area with a fold out sleep sofa, light food and breakfast included. If we were arriving more than a day ahead of our cruise, we'd choose the Hyatt or one of the hotels near the beach.

Heading back to the airport directly from Port Everglades is easy. Just walk off the ship and head to the taxi stand. If your friends prefer to have all the details wrapped up, they may arrange through Celebrity for the shuttle. We did the shuttle for our first cruise, but we prefer a taxi, which is faster and cheaper.
