nomo825 Posted October 15, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2019 I downloaded the Cruise Critic App on my cell phone (an Android cell) and tried logging in numerous times. Each time it said "false." I double checked to make sure my user name and password were correct - and they were. I have no problems logging on my computer but it does not work on my cell. (Note: I tried logging on to the app in several ways: One was with my user name and password and the other was with my email and password. Neither works on the cell phone app.) My cell phone is the latest version Android so it can't be that I am using an outdated mobile. Any ideas? Thank you. The app has not worked since the move to the new format (last October). You can access Cruise Critic directly on your phone.
Rare Host Kat Posted October 15, 2019 #3 Share Posted October 15, 2019 @nomo825 Just trying to help you understand what has happened... Here is an oldie but goody thread started right after the October 2018 move from vBulletin to Invision and goes on through the first part of this month. It contains history of the situation along with cussin' and discussin' 😊 about the Cruise Critic App and Tapatalk. Before the move, it was announced the CC App was going away and not to be continued. It boils down to now just use your browser. I sincerely hope this additional information about the situation will be helpful! Kat 🐱

Kat 🐱 Kat, The primary issue is the Cruise Critic app is still in the Google Play store so it is there to download. Why would a user not expect a branded app to work? The simple solution is to remove the app from the store and @CC Help Jenn or someone else should put this on a hot list, then we wouldn't have the same question every few days and have to point people to long discussions about the app. Edited October 16, 2019 by AlanF65

Lots of issues with people still installing it.

I don't find it frustrating. What may be contributing to a feeling of frustration is the connection speed. People with lower Wi-Fi / cell data speeds may conclude that the site is slow when in fact it is the connection, not the site that is slow. I regularly access CC on my iPhone and iPad, using Safari. In fact, I did so even when there was an app.
