Hey Suite Guests! What have you asked your Concierge to do for you?

We were talking to concierge he asked what we were doing we said we are taking a tender to port, he insisted on walking us down and putting us in front of the line. Another time we wanted to get bus transfer to airport and was told it was sold out, concierge was able to get us tickets.

First, we always pre Purshase the drink package. Except when we cruise on Oasis Class, I ask the Concierge to stock my in room cooler/refrig with my preferred beer. Generally, about a 12 pack is all that can fit. 
 

I make sure the Concierge has a nice tip and I track down the bartender who stocked the cooler. They also get a nice tip first day.

When it's time to leave the ship,  getting to sit in the concierge lounge is much more comfortable that hanging out in a lobby,
Then the concierge escorts you off the ship, past everyone else waiting in line, except for the people with early flights.  It is a real perk, imo.
We've had a concierge use their special code to get the elevator to go directly to the gangway to get us off the ship.  One concierge helped us get info about an excursion.

But the most important thing I ever had a concierge do was to give us a spare set of socks for my husband to wear on formal night.  DH forgot to pack black socks, and our concierge kept new spare pairs just for that!

Can you imagine if everyone was asking for special favors? We didn't ask for anything because we can usually get it ourselves. It isn't a 5 star hotel. If we really NEED and no3t WANT something then we will ask.

 

Also, people ask for things that they don't deserve and will take advantage of the situation.

During a transatlantic crossing on Rhapsody I decided I wanted to host 6 guests in my suite one afternoon.

 

I told the concierge I wanted to buy 5 bottles of champagne and a case of Evian, and I wanted the champagne delivered chilled  in ice buckets with 7 champagne glasses, 7 drinking glasses and some cocktail napkins.  I also ordered a tray of assorted veggies and dip, a tray of assorted cheeses and asked that it all be delivered at 1 PM the next day.

 

At the desired time it all arrived and he stopped by to make sure everything was OK and then he told me the snacks were compliments of Royal Caribbean..

 

My guests and I had a very nice afternoon and afterwards I thanked the concierge for his help and the nice surprise.

Another thing we have done is alert the concierge before we board that I am allergic to gluten and so we both are gluten free. On Grandeur and Freedom appetizers were prepared just for us. The concierge on Grandeur thanked us for letting him know ahead of time. He said sometimes people get upset that he doesn’t have snacks out that suit their dietary needs, but they also hadn’t told informed him of their needs. 

We actually stopped asking for this because we were given so much that we didn’t have an appetite for dinner! And of course we felt obliged to eat everything prepared for us.

This is helpful. My youngest will have his 2nd birthday on the ship in January and we are traveling with extended family so I want to have a little birthday party. Glad to hear that I can get some help from the concierge for that.

Also, people ask for things that they don't deserve and will take advantage of the situation.

They are professionals, and they can always tell you, 'sorry, I tried, but it is not possible'. They want you to ask for things. They expect to be compensated for their efforts. It's a business relationship, it's not your friend's grandma.

And getting the express elevator bypasses all those nasty steerage passengers waiting for the elevator so they can disembark!

Hi.  I have a question for you.   Do diamond plus passengers have access to the concierge lounge?  I seem to remember the last time we were on Liberty they did.   We will be in a suite and are also diamond plus.  I also remember in the theater the reserved seats were also diamond plus and above and suite passengers. 

 

We haven't been on RC for 5 years.  I am reading now there is a "key" program also where people can buy additional perks?

We have also used help during tender days getting off the ship.

Other than that, not much, we don't need a lot.

Yes D+ still have access to concierge lounge and reserved seating.  Unfortunately Liberty does not have a concierge lounge anymore but there is now a suite lounge next to the viking crown lounge on deck 14.   If you are sailing in a grand suite or higher, you will have access to the suite lounge.

 

There is still reserved seating in the theatre for D+,  suite and key guests.

Too bad Carnival does not have these perks when booking a Suite.  But then again, the Suites on Carnival look like basic balcony cabins compared to the $uites of RCCL.  It’s a true statement, you get what you paid for.

We will be boarding Liberty tomorrow. Hope you had a great cruise and kept the ship in tip top condition for us boarding tomorrow.

 

Might even watch Liberty arrive tomorrow morning.  I am 5 hours behind texas time.  Can't sleep that early in the morning.  Had a great couple days here in Galveston. 

 

If you have time, I recommend the Bolivar ferry to watch dolphins.  Trip going and coming back we saw a lot of them.

If you're D+ and can go into the concierge lounge can you also go into the diamond lounge or would that be for diamond only?

Thanks.   If I remember correctly that lounge on Liberty was small and when we went in for drinks before dinner it was so crowded you couldn't get a seat.

 

How about the breakfast?  Does diamond plus have access to the same breakfast  restaurant as suites?
