KrakedMask Posted October 21, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 21, 2019 So a few of us on this upcoming trip (Sunrise 11/2-11/7) are night owls and regularly stay up hanging out till the early morning hours. From what I remember about Carnival from the past was there is no official shut down for the boat but a lot of places like the buffet or restaurants close at set times. What things are there still to do between midnight and 5am? Do all the bars shut down at a set time or do they run 24/7? Are the casino and pools still open that late? mrpayroll Posted October 21, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 21, 2019 None of the pools are open 24 hours. If I remember right there might be a couple of hot tubs open til midnight.
trummy Posted October 21, 2019 #3 Share Posted October 21, 2019 I am a night owl too. There is one bar open all night. It is usually near the lido buffet. The club, piano bar etc will go until one or two. 1
Rare Saint Greg Posted October 21, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 21, 2019 The casino is open late. I’ve had them kick us off of table games around 1:30am. The night club is open beyond 1am. I’ve seen some post that it closes at 2am. Pizza is 24/7. I think the casino bar is 24/7. The bar where the main entrainment is (probably Atrium on sunrise) May stay open until 1am. I know on Dream class it was the alchemy and that alchemy stayed open until 1am where others close at midnight. After 2am you’re probably just looking at pizza and casino bar.
pc_load_letter Posted October 21, 2019 #5 Share Posted October 21, 2019 Casino bars stay open till 1:30 or 2am. Can't remember which. The piano bar will generally be open until midnight. The pizza place is open 24 hours. Pools and jacuzzi's close. I am with you OP, I am a night own as well and just like to walk the ship without all the people. Most open areas will be fine to hang out in. Could probably play some board games, scavenger hunt or just chit chat.

Butterbean1000 Posted October 21, 2019 #7 Share Posted October 21, 2019 Don't they show late night movies at times?
soonernstlouis Posted October 21, 2019 #8 Share Posted October 21, 2019 Just looking at a recent Fun Times, 24 hour activities were arcade, jogging track and library. 24 hour food was pizza and soft serve ice cream. Everything else closed at some point.

watermelonqueen99 Posted October 22, 2019 #10 Share Posted October 22, 2019 The piano bar is a blast, and has always gone until around 1 AM in our experience. After that we usually move to the casino bar which has gone as late as 3 AM.
thesmiths Posted October 22, 2019 #11 Share Posted October 22, 2019 Couple pre-ordered bottles of alcohol, mix a batch of jungle juice and hang out by the pizzeria sounds like a good time. 3

TEXSUN46 Posted October 22, 2019 #13 Share Posted October 22, 2019 I am the opposite, I am extremely early riser. I often go wandering around about 5am and the Casino slots are open and that is when I usually play so I assume they are open all night. I also walk the track early mornings, around the ship I mostly just see crew cleaning at that time.

I'm sure I will be like you the first day, I am a super early riser as I work from 630-330 but also plan on staying up late to enjoy the stars! Theosprey247 Posted October 22, 2019 #15 Share Posted October 22, 2019 Same here. I keep “farmers hours” and enjoy an empty ship while everyone sleeps.
JGB Posted October 22, 2019 #16 Share Posted October 22, 2019 I too am an early riser, I found the slots on Carnival(west coast) open at 7 am not open all night... has this changed? Princess casino slots are available all night
SurfCat Posted October 22, 2019 #17 Share Posted October 22, 2019 Sometimes there is a late night party at the Serenity Bar. Once that closes the crowd usually heads down to the pizza area. There is usually a good late night crowd to be found somewhere.
Jim and Monika Posted October 23, 2019 #18 Share Posted October 23, 2019 If the other bars are closed, the 24/7 Pizza has Beer.
coevan Posted October 23, 2019 #19 Share Posted October 23, 2019 since when does the pizza have beer, my wife always waited in line while I got beer at the bar.

Just started less than a year ago. There is no 4 am bar anymore on any ship that sails out of the US(used to be the bar closest to the pizza). The Casino bar is now the last bar open I have seen it close as early as 1:40 am and as late as around 3 am. The casino tells the bar when to close. You can get room service drinks until 4am, but you can not use cheers to pay for the drinks from room service. I am one who stays up til the last bar closes every night and go on several cruises a year, so I know this to be true. Also there is no and has never been a 24hr bar on a Carnival ship during a normal sailing. Maybe in the 80's or on a charter but not on a public sailing.
Jim and Monika Posted October 24, 2019 #21 Share Posted October 24, 2019 We have been getting beer at Pizza since Cheers started. We always have pizza before turning in, and get some beer to take back to our cabin, that is if we haven't hit 15 yet...

Me and a group of my new friends hung out there until 2:00 AM one night, although most nights it was until 1:00 AM to 1:30 AM. It was a blast! We kept up a lively atmosphere to give rave clubs a run for their money (minus the drugs). That said, it varies from ship to ship, depending on the pianist and the crowd present. On my past cruises, the piano bar was pretty sedate.
James4me Posted October 24, 2019 #23 Share Posted October 24, 2019 Just please don’t bring your late night party back to your rooms. It’s a respectable request 🤫
cmichael1279 Posted October 24, 2019 #24 Share Posted October 24, 2019 The casino and casino bar will usually stay open even later, if it's one of the Premier/Ultra/Etc. cruises... Also, the casino generally isn't going to kick people out of they're busy and making money! 🙂

At this age, cabins are for either pre-gaming or conking out, not actual partying. 2
