A quick note from Marina in Brazil!

Boarded Saturday. So far the food - only in the Terrace - has been superb. I'll admit that I could see only eating there...but we won't 🙂 Tonight is Toscana.

Also our cabin steward is what I would call "perfunctory." Also although she quickly agreed that she would leave our towels unless they were on they floor, she didn't. I'm giving her a second chance 🙂

Boa viagen!

We just got back from the previous leg on Marina.....try the lobster tails and lamb chops at the grill.  Great.    Also at Polo the deconstructed lobster. They take it out of the shell for you. Could eat that every night happily.

I'm on the Feb 12 sailing Rio to BA. Would love to hear more if you choose to come back on this thread to share your experiences 😊

Being the over-communicater that I am 🙂 I definitely will.

Hi Cath!

Glad your enjoying yourself and good to hear Terrace is wonderful! Hope Toscana

will be excellent. Thanks for taking a moment to chime in and have fun.

Denise😊

Toscana was very good. What I'd heard and it was true is that I could get small portions of dishes. So I had a lovely risotto and a veal piccata. More tomorrow. And the ship is stunning.

The lobster tail FAR exceeded my expectation. Can I get them in the GDR also?

I can’t wait for my experience in 3 months👍 So glad Toscana was right on and I bet it was a nice relaxing atmosphere too.

I bet your stateroom is wonderful and sleeping so well with their comfortable bed!

Take care Cath!

Nope. Sorry.

Also try the lobster Mac and cheese side dish in Polo.

Also the appetizer sampler in Red Ginger.  Its on the very top of the page on the left side. For 2 or 4. Yummy

Clo,

Sounds like your first impressions are positive - I hope it will continue to be so.

If you like lobster, try the lobster Thermidore at Jacques and lobster Pad Thai at Red Ginger.

For appetizers I like the crab salad at Jacques and the crab cakes & jumbo shrimp cocktail at Polo.

Enjoy!

So I had a lovely risotto

Needed to check this AM. This risotto was to have lobster. I didn't see any and was told it was chopped very find. Looked this morning and the menu said "medallions." None.

The buffet hasn't been crowded nor was Toscano and I found out that the ship isn't "that full." Don't know what that means.

Just talked with a staff member in the know and they have over 1000 out of over 1200 so that doesn't seem too bad. ?

She was on board for most of the noro-virus problem. She said the biggest problem was pax refusing to stay in quarantine for only two days. And she pardoned Bob but said the worst offenders were men!

If you are accustomed to more main stream lines Oceania will feel less crowded simply due to the nature of more space per person. That's one of the things we like about it.

The only cruises we've done in about 15 years were on ships with 400 and 100 🙂

But the buffet area is set up so well. "Triplicates" of all the areas except the few cooked to order things. And the two distinct dining areas. We expected to be impressed and we are.

We're having a DIY sea day. This island really has nothing but beaches so a nice day to stay on board. Watching the movie "Yesterday."
