clo Posted December 9, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2019 Boarded Saturday. So far the food - only in the Terrace - has been superb. I'll admit that I could see only eating there...but we won't 🙂 Tonight is Toscana. Also our cabin steward is what I would call "perfunctory." Also although she quickly agreed that she would leave our towels unless they were on they floor, she didn't. I'm giving her a second chance 🙂 Boa viagen! Mrs f. Posted December 9, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2019 We just got back from the previous leg on Marina.....try the lobster tails and lamb chops at the grill. Great. Also at Polo the deconstructed lobster. They take it out of the shell for you. Could eat that every night happily.

So I had a lovely risotto and a veal piccata. More tomorrow. And the ship is stunning.

Also try the lobster Mac and cheese side dish in Polo. Also the appetizer sampler in Red Ginger. Its on the very top of the page on the left side. For 2 or 4. Paulchili Posted December 10, 2019 #12 Share Posted December 10, 2019 Clo, Sounds like your first impressions are positive - I hope it will continue to be so. If you like lobster, try the lobster Thermidore at Jacques and lobster Pad Thai at Red Ginger. For appetizers I like the crab salad at Jacques and the crab cakes & jumbo shrimp cocktail at Polo. Enjoy!

clo Posted December 10, 2019 Author #14 Share Posted December 10, 2019 The buffet hasn't been crowded nor was Toscano and I found out that the ship isn't "that full." Don't know what that means.

Don't know what that means. Just talked with a staff member in the know and they have over 1000 out of over 1200 so that doesn't seem too bad. ? She was on board for most of the noro-virus problem. She said the biggest problem was pax refusing to stay in quarantine for only two days. And she pardoned Bob but said the worst offenders were men! Rare ORV Posted December 10, 2019 #16 Share Posted December 10, 2019 If you are accustomed to more main stream lines Oceania will feel less crowded simply due to the nature of more space per person. That's one of the things we like about it.

That's one of the things we like about it. The only cruises we've done in about 15 years were on ships with 400 and 100 🙂 But the buffet area is set up so well. "Triplicates" of all the areas except the few cooked to order things. And the two distinct dining areas. We expected to be impressed and we are.
