Shuttle to downtown Victoria?

We were on the Oosterdam in September and yes, free shuttle buses were provided.  They deposited passengers in front of the Empress Hotel.  They only problem was, there were several ships in port at the same time thus large crowds waiting since the shuttles are not specific to any one cruise line.

I was also there in September on Eurodam.  The shuttles were not free for us.  They were about $15 (can't remember exact price) per person.  We had to purchase the tickets at the shore excursions deck.

That said, no one checked for our tickets getting on the shuttle both at the ship and from the downtown pickup point, so it wouldn't surprise me if folks who were none-the-wiser just hopped on thinking they were free.

Going from Ogden Point to downtown Empress Hotel is less than two kilometres walk, which is just over 1 mile.  It takes a leisurely 25 minute walk, walking through nice neighbourhoods.  If you are not mobility challenged in anyway it’s a nice walk.  Google map directions for the shorter walk.  You come in behind the Parliament Buildings and The Royal B.C. Museum.

I agree. Your route could take in the food shops at Fisherman Wharf. It is now illegal to feed to harbor seals. Along the south bank past the ferry to WA state. To the Empress Hotel and the Convention Center. There's a public bus service from the area of the Empress Hotel back to Ogden Point and the Cruise Terminal.

There will be shuttles in front of the Ogden Point terminal building in Victoria and they will transport you for $15 Canadian to a stop on Government Street, just on the other side of Broughton Street right smack in front of a really good ice cream establishment by the name of "Oh Gelato" (imagine that :classic_wink:) in downtown Victoria! The buses used to stop on a side street of the Empress (Humboldt Street) but that was discontinued about three/four years ago. Enjoy beautiful and always nice Victoria, B.C.!

That’s exactly what we did when we were in Victoria.  It was a lovely walk with beautiful scenery, flowers and neighbourhoods on the way 😄

We are sailing on the Oosterdam next May with a stop in Victoria. Is there a shuttle from the ship to downtown or nearby transportation?

There is.  They charge in USD.  As a Canadian I found it cheaper and easier to grab a cab (DH can't walk far, but it is a quite easy walk to the downtown).

We were a group of four in Victoria earlier this summer on the Eurodam.  There was a paid shuttle with a line to buy tickets.  We took a cab to the inner harbor, $10 US.  On the way back we had obtained some CAD, and paid $10 CAD for our return.  While it is a 30 minute walk to the inner harbor, the cabs were quick and convenient.
