NavyCruiser Posted December 20, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 20, 2019 We love having & using Global Entry , as it also include separate TSA Pre-Check lanes at Security at the airports when flying. We're Diamond & Emerald members, which includes Priority Boarding benefits. That's fine for the check-in counters at the port. However, does that same Priority Boarding benefit applies to the Security lanes prior to the Check-In counters? Last few trips on the Liberty at Galveston port, Priority Security lanes are only for Pinnacle & Suite passengers... Is that correct, or did we miss something...? Thanks,
Rare twangster Posted December 20, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 20, 2019 This seems to be a point of change, confusion, misunderstanding or expectations. At some ports, namely Port Canaveral and Galveston apparently D+ were allowed to use the suite/pinnacle security line. It wasn’t widely reported at other ports. Now it seems no port allows D+ into the suite/pinnacle security lane.
njkruzer Posted December 20, 2019 #3 Share Posted December 20, 2019 Agree, it seems to depend on port. We are D+. Seem to remember a long line at Port Canaveral for security. Divided after that. Whatever it was at Cape Liberty it was very quick.

Thanks, in all my cruises I've had to go thru with the general line whether I was D or D+. I've sailed primarily from Miami, Fort Lauderdale & Bayonne.
HicksRA Posted December 21, 2019 #6 Share Posted December 21, 2019 Liberty priority security screening is for suites and Pins only. We were on Liberty last month and the security screening line was backed up all the way out the door and down the front of the building. Luckily we were in a suite and walked right up to the scanner. GTO-Girl Posted December 21, 2019 #8 Share Posted December 21, 2019 In Canaveral D & D+ go through the general security lines. Only Pinnacle and Suites get priority security lines.....
NavyCruiser Posted December 21, 2019 Author #9 Share Posted December 21, 2019 We're only Platinum on Carnival, & they consider going through Security as same as entire "Boarding" process, thus we get separate Priority lane at Security also. Keep getting confused that Royal doesn't treat going through Security as same process as "Boarding" experience...

Thanks, At Barcelona and Southampton as D+ we have joined the speedy security line but only after asking as they didn't volunteer to tell us there was a separate line. Last few trips on the Liberty at Galveston port, Priority Security lanes are only for Pinnacle & Suite passengers... Is that correct, or did we miss something...? Thanks, blanketly ..no. each port of embarkation will have their own policies regarding security lines and they have been known to change based on a variety of factors such as number of available screeners, weather and whatnot. I have been to many ports where there are NO separate lines for anybody regardless of status.. be they Suite Pax, GE holders, or upper tier loyalty status. the lines don't breaking off until after the metal detectors the priority Boarding means that when boarding begins, you will be in one of the first groups called.. it doesn't even guarantee priority check in via a D/D+ line . ( which BTW, is quite often NOT the shortest line you can get into) I have noticed that the ports I have been to most seem to have 1-2 dedicated associates who ONLY take care of Pinnacle/Suite pax. so even being in that line may not get you checked in any faster since the rest of the 6-8 associates are taking care of everyone else. we use it for the ease of access to the suite waiting area which is much less crowded.
ssb Posted December 21, 2019 #12 Share Posted December 21, 2019 (edited) Galveston Liberty is initiating the new Check in program where by Seapass cards will be on cabin doors and not received at check in . Arrive to terminal after 1:00 pm , and you can probably walk straight onto ship without waiting lines and directly to cabin . Program already in place and working great on Enchantment in Galveston . ssb Posted December 21, 2019 #15 Share Posted December 21, 2019 (edited) Galveston lines on screening and so called check-in non existent and not a problem on Enchantment. No waiting on ship for access to cabins . Walked straight to cabin for Seapass . No lines . We arrived at terminal doors after 1:00 . Latest cruise on Enchantment disembarkation was a breeze . Immigration glanced at passports and kept waiving everyone through . State customs officers were asking for any declarations and did not see anyone stopping to declare , when we passed through . Agreed. We've been on both the Enchantment & Liberty, twice each, out of Galveston. It looked like the exact same number of Security personnel & screening machines/lines for both, even though the Liberty is a much larger ship. Never had to wait & we go through Security lines with Enchantment, but always at least 25 - 30 minutes wait on Liberty. Hope they put more machines/lines & personnel at the new Terminal when the Allure comes to Galveston late next year... Even with facial recognition technology for embarkation and disembarkation. Facial is coming to old # 1 and old # 2 terminals also. We love the new procedures with Global Entry at IAH Houston Bush airport whenever we arrive back from overseas, where now the kiosk literally takes 10 seconds take your picture, using facial recognition, & spits out a slip to give to Immigration official, all without having to even take out your passport to scan &/or scanning your fingerprints anymore. Hopefully, the same Immigration dept use that same technology at the cruise port...

Should be same at terminal on disembarkation. Also state-of-the-art technology such as mobile check-in and facial recognition to expedite passenger arrivals.
