Gmell Posted February 3, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2020 Greeting, booked for the March 27'th sailing - I've sailed twice before on the Silhouette and both times we had anytime dining (our preference) this trip we are currently on wait list. Have never taken note on the previous sailings if the 6:15 and 8:15 dining times had any seating for two as with the anytime dining. Is there anyone that would know the answer to this? MarkWiltonM Posted February 3, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 3, 2020 There are tables for two for both anytime dining and for set dining. They may try to seat you at a large table but tell them you prefer a table for two.
Luvcrusn Posted February 3, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 3, 2020 Yes, there are tables for 2. I recommend requested a table for 2 before your cruise. When you board the ship the first day, go to the MDR and meet with the maitre d to make sure your request was honored. We have found that it is most of the time and only once did we need a change. It was easily made at that time rather than wait until the first dinner seating to find out that your seating was not as requested when hundred of other people are finding their tables for the first time. No. If you are waitlisted you will have an assigned table at the time to which you are currently assigned. Select (which is anytime) is seating for those without the fixed time. You can always go to the dining changes place upon boarding and ask if you have cleared the waiting list if you have not before boarding. (Just to note, there is no email that you cleared. You have to periodically check “Manage My Reservation”)
upwarduk Posted February 8, 2020 #7 Share Posted February 8, 2020 When you board there will be a card in your cabin. If it’s not for Select dining, take it to the MDR, early afternoon. There should be a desk at the main entrance, make your request there. We did this when we were sailing with Canadian friends, we couldn’t link reservations as they were booked in different currencies. We were assigned a table in Select for the first night and subsequent nights we were seated in the same area with the same wait staff.
evitacruiser Posted February 8, 2020 #8 Share Posted February 8, 2020 If you are wait listed for 'Select' so you currently have 'Assigned' dining ( which is what we are booked on for the first time!) are you assigned to the same table each night with the same people? evitacruiser Posted February 8, 2020 #10 Share Posted February 8, 2020 I see, how does that work if you have a speciality restaurant booking? We board on our 39th Anniversary and are considering doing Murano for that first evening, how will that affect our table going forward?
39august Posted February 8, 2020 #11 Share Posted February 8, 2020 After you have made your reservation at Murano (do it as soon as you can), then go to the MDR , find out whether you have cleared the wait list, and then advise the person taking requests that you will not be using whatever dining you have been assigned that first night. Luvcrusn Posted February 8, 2020 #12 Share Posted February 8, 2020 Your assigned table at the assigned dining time (early or late seating) in traditional dining with the same wait staff is yours for the duration of the cruise. If you go elsewhere your table will be empty. If you are dining with others it might be nice to let them know you!'ll not be there on a given night, but it's okay if you make a spur of the moment decision to just go where you want. It's your vacation. Have a wonderful time.
