Online trader goes bust

Recommended Posts

So when we are encouraged by the travel industry to use an AFTA member it is worth jacks*$t ??

In any case, apart from using an agent that goes broke & leaves you out of pocket, why do people book thru these types of sites. I fly very often, and always book thru the airline direct and receive instant e-tickets. Now I guess it's possible the airline itself could go broke before my flight, but that's a whole 'nother story.

It's worth it to the industry body. Just a selling point, like a lot of things.

As for practical benefit to the consumer though, nothing. FWIW, AFTA have said they're looking at whether they need to change anything as a result of this failure on their watch...

well...

i booked  a friends flight   via fly365.com -singapore air- who departed a month ago

ticket purchased in nov.19

and is due back in 2 weeks.thankfully,on the airline website the ticket

is confirmed and obviously paid in full for the return .

fly365 was aprox.$150 cheaper than booking direct with airline website

$950 vs $1100

i thought thats a good saving, and have booked with 365.com previously

found them via skyscanner

But this news, another reason to not cut corners with tickets.

its like walking through a minefield-

note to self...

go direct with airline website .do not penny pinch...bad things can

happen to good people...

But is it a selling point to the public?  Are TAs getting value for money with their membership fees?

There will indeed be sad scenes for many who just rock up to the airport. It’s an awful business.

It would appear that this company, and/or those associated with it, have previous form.
