I also booked directly with Carnival via their website. I don't show any onboard credit on my account. I plan on taking the OBC and cruising still... if I can actually get it... we are sailing April 12 and just got our email today. p
kfarist Posted March 7, 2020 #77 Share Posted March 7, 2020 (edited) Sister and I are booking a super last minute cruise for next week to take advantage of low rates. Do you think they would give us any OBC such as this or not because we hadn’t booked when the emails were sent out? Not a necessity by any means, but just curious. biomedbob Posted March 7, 2020 #82 Share Posted March 7, 2020 We would like to upgrade our reservation and forego the OBC. We can't get through to Carnival because we are in the Tornado impacted area in Tennessee. I can't seem to find a way online to contact them! In fact I got an email about my trip being around the corner today...but nothing else. I did book through a big box store....not sure if that has anything to do with it. Bases5 Posted March 8, 2020 #88 Share Posted March 8, 2020 We cancelled and rebooked. Was not worried at all about catching it but worried about getting stuck without an extra 2 weeks vacation time. We just pushed it back a few months.

One of us if an MD. This virus is going to kill so many people. Wish we were in our 30’s. Praying for all of you on ships to have a wonderful and safe trip. I would cancel in your shoes as well. Just had this convo with my husband. We're going ahead. The 5 of us are healthy & have very good immune systems. But if my parents were booked with us, I'd want them to cancel.

tonit964 Posted March 8, 2020 #91 Share Posted March 8, 2020 We are due to sail on the the Royal Princess 4/11 however, with the Carnival Panorama, debark/embark issue today and the last minute cancellation of the Royal cruise today, we are cancelling our cruise and will rebook when all of this blows over. I just don't want to get quarantined. I feel bad for everyone going through this.

BeachDiva101 Posted March 8, 2020 #93 Share Posted March 8, 2020 We are going on Panorama May 9th. We do not need to fly in to the port, so I’m packing extra stuff in case we get stuck on board for extra days. I’m hoping this thing calms down a bit by May. Good luck and safe travels to all who are cruising the rest of March and April.

IBMelissa Posted March 8, 2020 #95 Share Posted March 8, 2020 Carnival Dream sailing out of Galveston, TX ~ March 21, 2020 ~ Our biggest fear is getting stuck on the ship and possibly not being able to get off for who knows how long, then being tucked away in quarantine. As of right now we are going on this cruise! 🚢 ~ But still watching everything unfolding minute by minute and playing it by ear ~ At least we have up till March 17 to change our minds and reschedule without penalty. Fingers, toes and whatever else I can cross is crossed that no one gets sick. 😷

sjlogghe Posted March 8, 2020 #98 Share Posted March 8, 2020 Set sail on March 22nd, can't wait! Glad we decided to change from the 5 day to 6 day - it was the same price at booking. Bring on the on board credit, and possibly lower crowds!!

My understanding is the OBC applies to bookings made prior to March 6, for cruises that sail before May 31. I have not actually received "the letter" but assuming it will apply to the booking I made 2/25 for 5/3. My email with Carnival has been screwed up entirely for this booking, with the second person the room receiving everything and me nothing (yes I checked my spam folder). My only concern is with it being a casino deal...has anyone booked on a permier gotten The Letter yet? With Heald getting on his FB and announcing it, I can't imagine it won't apply to everyone, but wish I'd get it just to feel secure that we're getting the OBC or have the option to cancel. Premiers are notorious for restrictions. Edited to add: You would think, with Carnival being a huge, money making company, that they would make their website more intuitive and functional. In the 11 years I've been dealing with it, there continue to be constant issues and half of the information you need.
